More sounds than just Clap!
I bought this thing on a whim, I like to buy stompboxes without trying them out, then I'm surprised if they're good, and I can return them if they're bad. The Crossroads is a pleasant surprise. I am not a Clapton fan, I respect him, don't get me wrong, I just don't LOVE his guitar playing or songs. This thing has the ability to produce stoner-rock distortion and extreme crunch. I use settings 1,2 and 5, that's it. The reverb setting is cool, the acoustic simulator is fun and the rotary speaker setting is interesting but I use the 3 distortions exclusively. I've been running the old Boss Enhancer pedal after the Crossroads and I get even more tone control and it sharpens up those 3 settings so they are suitable for metal, punk and experimental hardcore stuff! This pedal will not make you sound like Clapton but it does pack an array of good models that are a good approximation. I would encourage non Eric fans to check this pedal out and see what it can do for your playing, it really is a cool pedal and it comes with an AC adapter!

Not just a copycat pedal!
This is a great pedal. A lot of people might think that this is just for imitating Clapton's sound, but it's way more versatile than that. It offers several different types of distortion, from a high-output trebly gain to warmer, fatter overdrive. It also offers a decent acoustic simulator, but the hidden gem here is the "Badge" setting which emulates a rotary speaker. You can control the speed at which the "speaker" rotates and get a nice George Harrison/British-invasion sound out of it, or add a fuzz pedal and get a fat psychedelic sound.
With so many different settings and the ability to cutomize each one, this pedal is extremely versatile and well worth the hundred dollar price tag. Don't be turned off just because it's marketed as a way to sound like Clapton.

What do Clapton and coffee have in common?
This pedal packs some beautifully authentic tones and is worth every penny for the EC fan. I wish that this included an expression pedal like the newer Digitech pedals but even without it it's awesome. I personally prefer the older "Cream" tones over his newer but the range of choice was well thought out and versatile. I was especially impressed with the unplugged tone when playing through my strat. If you dial in a specific seting, it may not transfer so well to another effect setting so I use it with all dials at 12 o'clock and only 1 or 2 special tweaks I need to remember for specific songs.

AMAZING PEDAL!!!
Forget buying distortion and overdrive pedals. Stop looking at that acoustic simulator, and stop thinking about how to get Eric Clapton's "Woman" tone. This pedal has it all. 3-4 types of distortion, that awsome acoustic simulator(sometimes adds a little kick while playing an acoustic guitar), and rotary effects. I love this pedal and all in all it saves you a lot of money.
