Drop this DiMarzio prewired pickguard into your Stratocaster to receive the benefits of a three-ply-thick pickguard with a built-in volume knob, 2 separate tone knobs, a 5-way "blade" pickup selector, and the impeccable tone quality offered by three distinct DiMarzio True Velvet guitar pickups.
Neck Pickup: True Velvet Neck DP175
It's not difficult to make a vintage single-coil pickup that's clean and bright, but not so easy if you also want the high strings to sound sweet above the 12th fret. The True Velvet Neck model was designed to make this happen by tuning the coil to a frequency range that's bright but not thin. This pickup features a magnet stagger specifically designed to enhance string balance, which produces great clarity, even with full chords. The True Velvet Neck model comes standard with hand-ground magnets and vintage cloth covered wire.
Middle Pickup: True Velvet Middle DP175S
The neck and middle pickups have the same specifications except for reverse polarity on the middle pickup for hum cancellation in the 2 and 4 positions.
Bridge Pickup: True Velvet Bridge DP176
The True Velvet Bridge is just a touch warmer and louder than the Neck and Middle, so the transition between pickup positions is smooth and natural.

I own a black "FSR" Stratocaster that came stock with a black pickguard and aged white pickup covers, knobs, and tremelo arm tip. The stock pickups basically have no tone to them to speak of as this is a MIM model. After watching the video on the DiMarzio website, I ordered this pickup/pickguard unit with the True Velvet pickups. It arrived on time, and the unit could not have been easier to install. It took only one hour from start to finish to install. There is only one difference--the two tone controls are wired to the bridge and neck pickups, not the neck and middle. However, for me that is not a problem. I highly recommend this product especially if you own a MIM Stratocaster and want a tone that is 100% better than the stock pickups. Only one very minor problem--a couple of the holes do not precisely line up but you can play with it and make it work. Overall I give it 5 stars--if you want the vintage Stratocaster tone this is the way to go!!!
Easyest upgrade I've ever done. I have a MIM 70's reissue Strat. The holes lined up almost perfictly and the solderless conection was a snap. These pickups give my guitar a true vintage, piano like tone I was hoping for. The reverse polarity mid pickup makes it dead quiet in positions 2 & 4 with plenty of quack. Notes ring true from the first fret to the last. Played thruogh a twin reverb you get those great vintage Fender tones, through a Marshall Plexi wow!! The sounds I get are everything from Ventures to Hendrix, and set just right David Gilmore tones for miles. I could not be happier, you want vintage sound try them.
Replaced pups on my American Fat Strat with DiMarzio True Velvet Vintage Prewired Pickguard. Mounting holes did not line up, had to elongate several holes to make it fit. Wiring was a breeze with the wiring block. Strip wires, screw into wiring block, (screwdriver supplied) finished. After installation, I plugged into my Fender Twin Reverb Amp and began to play. WOW... what a beautiful sound. I closed my eyes and I was back in my H.S. Talent Show with my then brand new 61 Strat. If you are looking for that Vintage Strat Sound, This is for you. I gave it a 4 because of the mounting holes.
