Joe Satriani is continually refining and sharpening his sound. Two years in the making, the Satch Track Neck is Joe's first single-coil size signature pickup. Articulate, vocal and musical, it is our most advanced Fast Track-style pickup to date.
The Satch Track Neck bridges the gap between classic humbucker and single-coil performance. It tracks pick attack and string vibration quickly and accurately like a single-coil, but the voicing is wider and stronger, like a humbucker. The highs are very warm, and clarity is created by keeping the mids and lows tight and focused.
Recommended for neck, but can be used in all positions

Comments about DiMarzio DP425 Satch Track Neck Strat Pickup Single Coil:
I installed this in the middle position of a Strat with an ash body and maple neck. DiMarzio's "Tech Talk" is accurate. The attack has the character of a single coil but the attack's highs are somewhat compressed (is that what "warm" means?), a pleasure on the ears. As the note rings, the tone is focused with a good balance between body and edge. The lows are tight, not muddy, and the midrange is prominent but balanced. With moderate gain the attack feels great and is not at all tiresome. Notes stay focused as they decay, with the naturally steely character of a vibrating string. For lead work it gives me just what I need to be expressive. Positions 2 and 4 give interesting, useful tonal variations in combination my Strat's stock humbucker at the bridge and the Fender Noiseless at the neck.
