DiMarzio believes the Area '58 and Area '61 are a major step forward in the performance of hum canceling Strat replacement pickups. The new technology that went into these models has allowed them to make a similar advance with Telecaster replacement pickups. The Area T bridge model does what a great Tele bridge pickup is supposed to do: the highs sing, the lows snap and the mids have a punch that's almost unreal.

Recommended For: Bridge.

Tech Talk: The most instantly obvious quality of the Area T bridge model is dynamics. The Area T tracks changes in pick attack and volume, and it does it instantly. It's also very sensitive to string distance. The volume is very high when the pickup is close to the strings, but can be adjusted much lower by backing the Area T away. String pull is not a problem with the Alnico 2 magnets that are standard on the Area T.

Good tone, no noise

By Charles Adams

from Cleveland, OH

Bought a pair of Area-T pups for my MIM tele. The resulting tone isn't extraordinary, just a good solid foundation to use in a variety of styles. I am most pleased in the absence of noise and hum in the signal. Install was easy for me, but I have a lot of experience with guitar wiring, soldering and electronics in general. The pickups also fit the existing cutouts with no modification needed. Very pleased with the results, and would recommend these pups to anyone interested in getting a good Tele sound with no noise!

Clear and Natural with Grit!

By Jeremy Mark

from Elkhart, IN

I was searching for a pickup that would give me a clear and natural sounding clean without the hum and one that gives a bit more bite while being overdriven. Seems like a large order right? My old American Standard Telecaster pickups sounded decent but, these in my opinion sound about 10x better. I can finally get the grit I want after being overdriven without the thinness of the original pickups. They are DEAD quit, and they still let the telecaster sound like a telecaster. Please not I am not into country music I am into every other genere accept country and I feel these could suit anyones needs. Accept maybe Metal. These are very underrated. They are awesome pickups...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !...
