I love it!

By tech at one of the stores

from somewhere in texas

Comments about DiMarzio DP156 Humbucker From Hell:

I play all-mahogany set neck or neck through guitars, with stainless steel picks. I have it in one of my main guitars as the neck pickup, and will soon be converting my other main guitar to it as well, both of these guitars have an X2N in the bridge. It's amazingly bright and clear, only getting ice-picky if you really try to make it so. Output almost matches with the bridge X2N, so it's deceptively high-power. Buy this thing if you want a bright neck pickup, for things like older prog metal and such. 's what I use it for.

Great neck pickup

By Jacob Parks

from Mt Sterling. KY

Comments about DiMarzio DP156 Humbucker From Hell:

I just installed the DP-156 (Humbucker from Hell) on my art-100 in the neck position, I have a Dimarzio X2N in the bridge. This combo is the sound I have wanted for a lot of years. The DP-156 is sweet and pure sounding with good highs, mids and lows without being muddy. I play everything from country, classic rock, to new rock. These pickups do all well. I'm playing through a Blackstarr tube amp.

A mud free neck pickup

By Paris Cloyd

from MI

Comments about DiMarzio DP156 Humbucker From Hell:

I got the stock neck pickup in a Mahogany neck through guitar swapped out for the Dimarzio Humbucker From Hell. The notes sound clear, and they cut through the mix well. I highly recommend the Humbucker From Hell if note clarity is your priority. This pickup does not sound muddy at all. It is kind of like having a single coil without the hum.

Humbucker From Hell

By ARCHIE KEELE

from West TN

Comments about DiMarzio DP156 Humbucker From Hell:

I love my PRS CU22 but I have never really meshed with the neck position pick up. I have tried many different types in the neck and just never found what I was looking for. I wanted a clear, non muddy sounding pick up to contrast my Super Distortion in the bridge. I use a Randall RM100 into a Marshall JCM900 1960A cab. I use a Top Boost, Plexi and a JCM800 pre amp modules with EL34 power tubes. I like a variety of jazz, blues, rock, classic rock, hard rock and metal. As with most mahogany backed, maple topped set mahogany necks this one is mud heavy when in the neck position. The pick up is installed in a Duncan Triple Shot ring to allow for custom switching (I Recommend!). This pick up has a clear, solid, balanced tone when in parallel. Switch it to the north or south coil and it sounds like a nice single coil. If you switch it into a series it becomes almost acoustic like, with chime, jingle with clear non muddy bass. With the coil cut it gives the CU a near strat qualities. I just love that! I can play a sweet clean passage on the neck and then switch to the Super D and slam a nice power chord with authority! It came with Dragon II's. I liked the bridge but I am hooked on the Super Distortion in the bridge. I tried a Vintage Bass which was ok but just wasn't "it". I also tried a P-Rail, whick is a great pick up as well but just wasn't "it" for me either. In summary: The Humbucker From Hell is one heck of a unique pick up that is also a sleeper. If you want a clear neck pick up for a mahogany body guitar that is not muddy than look no farther!

Great pickup for tele neck

By Great clean pickup

from Fresno, CA

Comments about DiMarzio DP156 Humbucker From Hell:

I bought a Yamaha Pacifica 311MS (tele style, humbucker neck, single- bridge) off Ebay as a project guitar. I wanted an trandsparent orange guitar and this fit the bill. It had a Duncan Design humbucker pickup in the neck, but I was really looking for something more single-coil sounding. I almost looked past this pickup because of the name, but after reading the reviews, I decided to give it a try. It's a great pickup. Just like it says, it's very clear and clean sounding, like a tele neck pickup, but without the hum. I love it.
