Overview

Each half of the unique, double-blade DiMarzio DP127 Split P Replacement Pickup for Fender P Bass is a complete humbucker. Split P pickup is EQd to expand the range of your bass by extending both low- and high-end response--a great way to get a broader contemporary sound from mid-rangy, one-pickup-in-the-middle basses. The double-blade design adds snap for crisp attack and emphasizes cool overtones for big, smooth tone. Blade pole pieces also make the Split P pickup very sensitive to finger and pick attack. Notes seem to ring louder, especially in the upper registers, as the pickup hears the decaying note practically down to a whisper.

Comments about DiMarzio DP127 Split P Replacement Pickup for Fender P Bass:

I put these in my low-quality Peavey Milestone IV and with new strings on that baby and these pups it sounds very unique. It has the qualities of a P bass with the snap of a J. I am very happy with my purchase.

Comments about DiMarzio DP127 Split P Replacement Pickup for Fender P Bass:

I had these pick-ups professionally installed in my Ibanez P bass along with a pro set up. I couldn't believe the difference in sound quality. It sounds better then more expensive bass guitars I have played now. So, if your thinking about replacing a bass, try these bad boys first. You won't regret it.

          Sweeeeet!

Comments about DiMarzio DP127 Split P Replacement Pickup for Fender P Bass:

Nice and rich tone. To get the full effect, you should really slap on a new set of strings at the same time (definitely roundwounds and preferrably stainless steel for the full tonal range). If your strings are worn out, these pickups will make it all the more obvious. With a new set of strings, these pickups had more sustain and more clarity on the low end as well as more upper midrange clarity. It reminds me alot my Rick 4003 when switched to just the neck pickup with the tone pot all the way up. It also gives a usable slap tone - something stock p-bass electronics don't do well. They are also alot more quiet that the stock p-bass pickups on my '98 P-Bass.

Crisp popping highs, slapping punchy lows

          By

Comments about DiMarzio DP127 Split P Replacement Pickup for Fender P Bass:

I had bought these pickups to replace the DiMarzio DP122 pickups I installed in my Fender Pre back in 1978. But after 32 years of the same old sound. The DiMarzio DP127 pickups almost have twice the power output of the single coil DP122s. The DP127s brought new life into my old Fender Pre Bass. Slapping and popping the strings have become much easier to get the punching bass you get from a slap and popping the strings are much brighter now with a whole lot less of an effort to get the brilliant highs you get from popping a string. And when I do attack her like I used to when I had the DP122s on her, "Oh baby" me old P bass sounds like she's a getting a spanking. Add a set of XL5000 GHS Super Steels to your setup if you like slapping and popping strings and she'll squeal for you. But then again that's my taste, yours will probably differ from mine.

          Great ones

Comments about DiMarzio DP127 Split P Replacement Pickup for Fender P Bass:

I replaced my older pickups since they souded weak, powerless (I own a MIM Fender). The difference is not amazing I must say, but the sound improved a lot. The bass sounds louder and brighter, specially on the low and high notes. If you want mid-range power you should get some new strings also. The only thing I didn̴t like was the color, in the images they look like silver, but they are white, very, very white.

Comments about DiMarzio DP127 Split P Replacement Pickup for Fender P Bass:

I was looking for a high output, QUIET replacement pup for my Fender P. Bought this (in white) and never looked back. This pup has higher output, increased range and is DEAD quiet.

          Amazing!

Comments about DiMarzio DP127 Split P Replacement Pickup for Fender P Bass:

Okay, so I was fixing up a '94 Yamaha RBX when I stumbled across these babies. First thing; the looks. They LOOKED good. Second, the tonal range. P-basses only have one tone nob, but you wouldn't know that with these pickups. I can go from funky tones, to a warmth that melts hearts. Third, the price. Eighty bucks?! For two induvidual humbuckers?!?! ARE YOU SERIUOUS!?!?! Bottom line, if you're looking into being a solo-bassist, or just a player of a p-bass, and you're looking into replacing your pickups, these are the ones to do it with. P.S.- I have a Bootsy Collins signature wah with distortion. These pickups even take DISTORTION well!
