Worth the Money

By MaidenFreak

Comments about DiMarzio DP126 P+J Neck and Bridge Bass Pickup Set:

When i installed these pickups on my Aria STB-PJ bass, I noticed an immediate difference, in sound, tone, qaulity, and performance. There is definite noise and feedback reduction. I will never replace these and will never go back to stock pickups. The sound is so clear and crisp, especially when notes on the higher scale are played, and the hum of the lower scale notes is very rich. I reccomend these to anyone with a hybrid precision and jazz bass.

Great Pick-Me-Up

By Groetken

from Tucson, AZ

Comments about DiMarzio DP126 P+J Neck and Bridge Bass Pickup Set:

I read a few reviews for these pickups and decided that these would be the ones to beef up my well worn Ibanez GSR200. I'm glad I did. At first I was afraid to install them before a show, but I wish I had. The installation was a lot easier than I thought it would be, the hardest part was that I had to file a few things on my bass down because these pickups were slightly bigger than the originals. Other than that, it was just a few solders and they were in. The tone has changed immensely. With the originals, I could turn my tone knob all day long and not notice a big difference, but now it's very sensitive and I can get infinitely different sounds out of "Scummy Mike." I can now use my Pocket Rock-it headphone amp when I'm jamming in my apartment now. Before, it used to hum and I couldn't make out a note, now it sounds great. Dimarzio makes a great product, if you feel like your bass is missing something, buy these and that feeling will go away.

great upgrade

By Brett D

Comments about DiMarzio DP126 P+J Neck and Bridge Bass Pickup Set:

I have an Ibanez GSR200, not a high dollar guitar, so I thought a good set of Pickups would help the sound, I am very happy, fuller sound, more consistent sound, install was easy with a good soldering iron, had to file the J pickup opening as the DiMarzio was slightly wider than the stock pickups...

Perfect

By Dave C.

from Ann Arbor, MI

Comments about DiMarzio DP126 P+J Neck and Bridge Bass Pickup Set:

I put these pickups in my Ibanez GSR200FM when my stock pickups were beginning to die. I instantly heard a huge difference. The clarity and range of these pickups are out of this world. They're well suited for any type of music. I play slap bass a lot, and these add really great high-end for pops. They also allow for a nice fat tone when you want to play nice and smooth. The only problem is that I had to drill a couple of new holes to account for the pickups being slightly smaller. Buy these pickups and you'll add lots of life to your worn instrument.

Massive upgrade value for the money

By Andy Nelsen

from Portland, OR

Comments about DiMarzio DP126 P+J Neck and Bridge Bass Pickup Set:

I have a Fender Precision Bass Plus that I bought new in 1992. It came with passive Fender Lace Sensors that I've played through for the past 18 years. I recently bought my first non-SVT head (a GK 1001RB-ii which sounds fantastic), but there has always been something missing, even in the SVT days. I decided to replace the stock pickups with something else. I did not want to route out the back of the bass and introduce another battery into my life, so after reading a bit I decided to give the DiMarzios a try. At $99 the risk was low. So... These things sound huge. I finally have the attack I have always been missing. The signal is very hot for passive pickups. I installed them in a simple 2 volume (no tone) configuration. I want the bass to deliver a single sound that I can modify with the amplifier, and I'm glad after almost 20 years that I finally figured this out. When I dig in, I get more! Notes are articulate and with the right amp settings I get the perfect growl. Stellar.

Fantastic after-market Bass pickups!

By Sam Fiorenza

from Rockford, Illinois

Comments about DiMarzio DP126 P+J Neck and Bridge Bass Pickup Set:

I purchased these DiMarzio DP-126 P & J replacement bass pickups for a Squier VM Jaguar Bass that I picked up about three weeks prior. The Duncan-Designed stock pups in the Squier Jag Bass were surprisingly good all things considered, but I knew I needed something more. I just wired in these DiMarzios this weekend and WOW!--this low-end bass guitar really rocks!! The bass response is deep and wide with the split-P pickup, and the Jazz pup is clean and clear. Adjusting the treble controls on each pickup, when blended together, produces a nice growl and thump with some edginess to it. I can lay down a phat, Motown P-Bass line, switch to some hard rock or punk lines, and even swing with a nice Jazz line, all of them courtesy of the vast array of tones I can dial in with these pickups. And the hum I had before with the stock Jazz pup (with the treble at 100%) is gone with these DiMarzios. I highly recommend these pickups, and I will probably buy a set of Jazz pups for my Squier VM fretless Jazz Bass as well.

Comments about DiMarzio DP126 P+J Neck and Bridge Bass Pickup Set:

I bought these to upgrade a second-hand Samick bass. The original pickups were awful, particularly the "J" bridge pickup - thin, weak sound. It's a 100% improvement with the DiMarzio pickups. The signal is now fuller, louder, and allows me to play the instrument with a wider range of both dynamics and tone quality.

Comments about DiMarzio DP126 P+J Neck and Bridge Bass Pickup Set:

I put these on an older Ibanez GSR200 and what difference. It's clearer, it's louder through my amp (Ampeg 115), and It's punchier. It's on an older passive pickup bass. Easy to install on this one. I did need to file a bit and soldering was easy thanks to the instructions. Good upgrade to this bass. And ground the bridge better to help with that noise from this bass :)

Comments about DiMarzio DP126 P+J Neck and Bridge Bass Pickup Set:

I installed them on an older (passive pickups) Ibanez GSR200 and made a big difference in sound. It's sounds bigger, it's louder, and clearer. I would do this again. I enjoy playing everything but mainly drive for a jazz/rock sound and able to play metal if I want. These pickups allowed so much adjustability. I researched bunches and glad I didn't buy a different bass.
