Created for Steve Vai.

Designed for maximum impact and power — to get a tight, aggressive, loud sound. It incorporates a patented dual-resonance coil configuration that senses more harmonic overtones than ordinary humbuckers. Works in almost all solidbodies and most semi-hollowbodies as well. Though specifically created for Steve Vai's Ibanez Jems, it can add a lot of punch to Les Paul and similar set-neck guitars. Makes the lowest notes jump out of the amp, and feedback occurs easily with a wide range of harmonic overtones.

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

The Evolution neck pickup seems as if it could only be the product of divine inspiration as no mere man could have possibly conceived something so close to perfection. Features, as always receive a perfect 5 out of 5. There is very little that could possibly be done to enhance this pickup from a purely technical stand point. 4 conductor wiring and 12 individual pole pieces make this pickup very customizable, allowing for individual output control for each string and the possibility of wiring in parallel, putting in coil splits, phase revers, all that good stuff. The sound of this pickup is very full and punchy making for a great soloing agent. The notes come out very clear and distinguishable, making each note its own entity without any muddiness whatsoever. The harmonics on this pickup are also superb and crystal clear giving you the ability to squeel out a pinched harmonic on a solo or for that matter accentuate a pretty melody with some chimey harmonics. This pickup will make a great addition to most guitars as, it seems to be pretty versetile. It will make for a good jazz pickup when clean, a good, deep bluesy sound when fuzzy, and an over the top in-your-face soling sound when fully distorted. Great pickup, buy it under the right pretenses and you wont be dissapointed.

  • One clear pup!

As reviewed by JPAX7 on 3/19/2010

The Evo neck pickup would have to be one of the BEST neck pup's I've EVER heard!!! In the higher registers it gives a very clear bright tone. In the lower registers, it doesn't get muddy at all even with high gain chording! Its all warm brilliance! Mind you, I'm playing through the mutt of all guitars, the Epiphone Les Paul Special II. Basswood body and Mahogany neck, an odd combo, but the mahogany neck warms up the basswood body enough that the tone is decadent. Even when played through a solid state Peavey Vypyr 15 its got a beautiful distinct tone... played through my old Peavey VT Deuce 100W on the clean channel, its awe-inspiring! Beware though... it WILL show every mistake you make and will bring out the crazy neuances of your playing style and technique. Overall, a great pickup for both beginners and veterans alike.

  • Evolution in my hands

As reviewed by Dan Blanco on 6/17/2009

Great pickup! I installed it with the coil split. What a great tone, response, and feeling. I can get a very tight sound for rock and metal, and using the coil split I can get very nice fat strat clean sounds for blues.
