Give your acoustic a huge, accurate sonic boost.

The DiMarzio DP136 Super Natural Plus is an acoustic guitar soundhole pickup that goes beyond ordinary-sounding pickups with incredibly crisp treble, tight bass response, and patented 60-cycle hum reduction. This combination allows acoustic players to deal with real-world situations where feedback and weak sound can be major problems.

The pickup is encased in a plastic cover molded to look like dark rosewood, including the wood grain. It installs easily beneath the strings. Shock-absorbing foam lines the inside edges of both mounting brackets keeping the pickup in place and protecting the soundhole. There are individual adjustable poles for each string and the built-in 12' cable is thin and light. The Super Natural Plus also features a slide volume control for easy adjustment while playing.

Recommended for all steel-string guitars with soundholes measuring between 3-11/16" and 4-1/8" in diameter.

  • Caution: Check for important defect before installing

As reviewed by Gary Bodie on 6/16/2011

I just got my DiMarzio Super Natural Plus pickup, and I was very excited to install it on my 1948 0018 Martin guitar. I had measured the soundhole and compared the specs to make sure it would fit before I ordered it. I knew it would be close, but it would fit. So I read and reread the instructions, and carefully installed the pickup, rotating while pressing gently to get it down to "flush to the guitar's face." I plugged it in to my old Fender Bassman amp and it sounded great! I was thrilled! Imagine my surprise when I looked down and saw a new scratch on my guitar! Right at the top of the soundhole--a cross-shaped gouge. As it turns out, the "Super Natural Plus" has a manufacturing defect. Apparently, when they pull the plastic top piece from the mold, it leaves a remnant of plastic poking down from the flat undersurface EXACTLY at the point where the pickup first encounters the guitar. When you push it under the strings, the bottom of the top surface (above the foam) necessarily hits the top of the guitar as it is angled under the strings. As you apply pressure and fit the pickup under the strings, you push in to that point. Then, as you "rotate the pickup back and forth while applying gentle downward pressure" this point moves back and forth across the surface of the guitar. The result--if the bottom of the top plate is not completely smooth--is a gouge in the edge of your soundhole. I removed the pickup (very carefully), found some very fine-grit sand and buffed down the offending point, then reinserted the pickup with no additional damage. But this is a serious issue for future purchasers. DiMarzio needs to put this on their Quality Control list and make sure that this does not happen to future purchasers. I know that this has devalued my guitar, were I to put it on the market. This is a heritage guitar for me, and, while not immaculate before this, it was very clean. Every mark hurts it and me. Please examine your product closely before installing!

  • Great Buy!!!

I did some research on different soundhole pickups and I bought this one without trying it. I liked the adjustable pole pieces and volume control. The sound is great! Way better than I thought it would be. Would recommend this pickup for anyone looking for a soundhole pickup!
