About Denon:

With a history dating back to the early 20th century, Denon has one of the oldest pedigrees in the world of audio electronics. The company’s earliest products were disc recordings and the gramophones to play them—quickly establishing Denon as a consumer brand—and broadcast equipment for the new field of radio. Developing many firsts and standards, like the legendary DL-103 moving coil phono cartridge and the first AC servo direct phono motor using pulse magnetic field detection for professional use, Denon stayed near the fore of technological development.

As the digital audio revolution began in the '70s, Denon was there, designing and building digital recorders and applying their technological know-how and reputation for superb sound to building new consumer and professional products. With the DJ world becoming an important force, Denon was innovating there, as well, developing the DN-2000G, a twin-deck CD player with onboard sampler and looping that became a standard for club DJs and the DN-S5000, the first motor-driven active-platter CD/MP3 player for performing DJs.

In 2002, Denon and Marantz merged, bringing new engineering perspective to the combined companies. Denon DJ, a separate division, has a robust line of controllers, mixers, media players, headphones and more, backed by over a century of experience in the field.
