i have this little monster for a half of a year. got it because of a cheap price. i needed something heavy and angry-sound pedal and it was the first pedal i saw in guitar center for a price i was able spend, read about it, tried it, loved it. i tried line6 tone core uber metal, some other distortions and this one was built like a tank, had a price i could afford and had a sound i couldn't believe. what can i say, it must go through full tube-amp. because running on digital modeling amp this pedal gives only a dirty plastic noise. let him 'speak' through tubes and you will be surprised in a good way. it is metal in all meanings. would not change it to any boss distortion pedal.

I really liked the tone of this pedal. i was looking for a different sound that i was able to achieve with this particular pedal that i couldn't with other conventional distortion pedals i tried. However after only a few days of use it simply stopped working!!! the light indicated there was power but there wasn't any sound! i exchanged it for another and the same thing happened. I was very disappointed because again i really liked the tone it had. maybe you'll have better luck.

Best Distortion for the price

By christian chidester

from Hutto, Tx

Comments about DeltaLab MD1 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I bought this pedal one day looking for a new distortion that could be heavier than my last one that i could play almost every genre on. you can use this pedal to play some bands like bullet for my valentine, A7X, and Trivium. when i bought this pedal i was blown away with the sound that came out of it. ever since then i've only wanted deltalab pedals. this pedal will get the job done and keep you satisfy you with your sound.

Great sound for the price

By Michael G

from Denver, Colorado

Comments about DeltaLab MD1 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I had been looking for a heavy distortion pedal, and when I plugged this under priced baby in, that was it. Compared to the Fullbore I hated and got rid of, this is now part of my pedalboard. I am a lifelong guitarist, but attach no stigmas to cheap pedals, and am not a pedal snob. (Good pedals are worth it, I just don't attach ego to the pedals I use.) I am going to buy another, even at full price. It gets the sound I want without a bunch of knobs. I use it at the full scoop side, but you can dial in more midrange than you need. The real sleeper in this pedal is when the gain is turned down. It sounds great right down to next to no gain. How many metal pedals sound good with single-coil Strat pickups. My past one didn't, this one does. The concern will be internal failures. I had a different Deltalab pedal switch fail on me with little use, and we are talking cheap Chinese construction/components here. The pedal is heavier than it needs to be, but that's also back to cheap design and possibly the need to sell more metal, no pun intended. If you are a beginner/student, this pedal certainly is worth the bucks to get a good sound. I am a bar band veteran, and I am going to buy another one as a backup and a carry-around. Deltalab is on to a good thing here. I like how all their pedals sound.

Love This Ones Tone

By Jake65

from Madison WI

Comments about DeltaLab MD1 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

Pedals are like paint colors...what i like you might hate. This one has a different distortion level than others i've had, and i've had too many. I think the best description for this pedal is that it fills a distortion gap between a "Rock" dist. and a Metal Zone. Which is what i have been looking for. After hearing this one on my rig, i would have paid $99.99 for it, at $39 it is a steal to me.

NOT TRUE BYPASS

By EMGmikey

from Eugene Oregon

Comments about DeltaLab MD1 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

Okay so i reviewed this when i was just getting into guitar, and i knew nothing of good clean tone. I bought this thinking i'd be shredding, and it was true...for about a week, i have an MT-2 a TB-S and a DS-1, and it sucked the tone out, when it was off it had this strange squish sound when on it would buzz. I don't recomend it but try it

DeltaLab MD1, A Lotta Bang for the Buck

By sam rucker

from quincy, ma

Comments about DeltaLab MD1 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

For $29.95 + shipping, I couldn't resist and I wasn't disappointed. At first I thought it was a little rough sounding (I had intended to order the DeltaLab "Tube Overdrive" but this one came instead), but when I listened to it recorded, in a mix, it sounded great. It seems to be really solidly constructed, although I haven't really moved it around much yet, and one great feature it that it turns off when you disconnect the input cord so you don't have to worry about wasting battery usage. I don't know yet how well it actually does as far as battery life while being in use. The auxiliary power jack is another good feature. One thing I have to mention: this is, I believe, the first time in my life I ever bought any piece of equipment that had the batteries included. I haven't been a big purchaser of guitar effects pedals...maybe this is normal. I thought at first it didn't work - the battery terminals were wisely covered with plastic tabs.

Killer hi-gain

By Harlstone Harlinski

from Eugene, Oregon

Comments about DeltaLab MD1 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I've had this pedal for about a month now and it's killer! I was gonna buy a Modtone Speedbox but the guitar center in my town didn't have it so I got this. Amazing! Capable of extremely hi gain. I play extreme metal and this thing does the trick. Built like a tank. Great for the price. Get it.

ok... but....

By Adam Forest

from Massachusetts

Comments about DeltaLab MD1 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

its not too heavy in my opinion and what i play heavy is what i wanted. the distortion is just too weak, but other than that it is sturdy and has a nice tone. also it doesn't work after a week but i could have just used a bad adapter

Great sound... Bad quality

By Alex

from Elyria, OH

Comments about DeltaLab MD1 Metal Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

DON'T GET ME WRONG from what I say in this review, because this pedal sounds GREAT! I have had it for about a year now, and it has held up for me perfectly. All sound aside, the pedal itself isn't very good quality. The first one I bought didn't even work, so I had to return it and get another. Plus, many friends that I know that have had this pedal or others of this brand have had it stop working after a few weeks or months. The sound is great...if it works.
