I have all the big pedals - PodXT Live, ME-50, etc., but wanted something small, simple. The effects are in general wonderful (can't deep-dive - but that's what the big pedals are for). Even the amp/cabinet models were a pleasant surprise; I normally turn them off, but some of these added a real fatness and richness. CONFUSING: The bypass bypasses EFFECTS only; so to get a bypass you have to turn off all the effects and modeling on one of the patches. But for the price, this is a great buy.

I've had this effects pedal for over 2 years now. At first it worked great. I used it to model several types of music types into a mixer and then a PA. In just over a year (after the warranty expired) the display became unreadable in the middle part. I tried to continue to use it, but when you can't read what setting you're on, it's useless. This thing was NEVER dropped to my knowledge (I'm the only one that handles it) so I don't know why the display failed.

Great unit at a good price

By John

from Irving, Texas

I got this for my acoustic, basically to try to clean up the sound from an under the saddle pickup. The unit is well made. The switches have a very positive on/off feel. Unless you stand on it I would think it would last forever. Comes with a huge number of effects, which are also easy to modify. Three minor things kept it from getting a 5 star rating: -The manual isn't that great. It might be OK for someone that has experience with pedals but not great for a newbie like me. -The LED screen is great at some angles but at certain angles it is very difficult to read. -The control knobs don't have lines to show you where they are pointed. Not a big deal if you are sitting down, but if it's dark where you are working, it makes it difficult to tell where it is turned. I can't imagine that with a little time and effort you can't make this thing do anything you want.

Cool Deal

By Josh

from Anderson, SC

I lacked distortion on my current system and wanted a pedal simply for that reason. Saw this baby and said why not. Pretty cool little unit. Learning curve is a little steep and the instruction manual could be a little more detailed, but overall it's a great pedal and i would recommend it to anyone.

pedal for the metal

By jackson

from oregon

This pedal provides me with everything I need to have a tight clean sound for playing technical death metal. The distortion on this pedal is perfect! with a very wide range of tone and control. The noise gate works very well when playing fast and chunky stop riffs. this little guy also has a built in drum machine that even has click tracks, perfect for sitting around the house with headphones practicing into the night.

great pedal great price

By nightbreed

from st louis mo

I"ve had this pedal for about two years now and i couldnt be happier. i use it mainly for distortion, and theres so many types to choose from, and they all sound great. one of my favorite things is how the expression pedal turns into a wah with a press of a toe. the only bad thing is that since it takes a while to cycle through the effects, its not the best for playing live unless youre only using one effect. but its still a great pedal and i would recommend it to anyone!

Great Value

By ALBC Bass Player

from Kansas City, MO

I purchased the DGFX1 and it does everything I need in an effects pedal with one exception; a model with a digital out (USB) would be convenient. But, other than that it is a very flexible unit. I compared it to the Line6 Pocket POD Express. This is much more feature-rich and even has a screen.

Good for a little bit of everything

By Joe

from Massillon, OH

I bought this pedal a couple of months ago at guitar center. When i saw it, it looked like it was pretty solid and it had a ton of different effects on it. The manual that comes with this pedal (trust me, you'll need it) is not that descriptive. It does not explain the whole pedal system and setup that well. For example, when it said that the light was engaged for the pedal option, it did not say how to turn on or off the pedal option. That was no big deal. This pedal is mostly made of vintage areosmith kind of effects. The crunches are pretty good, but definitely not the best. Some of the effects that you edit your other effects with are pointless and useless. There's an effect called fall and what it does is once you hit a note the pitch falls for a couple of half steps. One of the things I like about this amp is that you can use different cabinets and amp models. It can either acutely change the effect or it can dramatically change it. There are also endless possibilities with this pedal. I've had this pedal foe six months and i am still discovering more things about it all of the time. But eventually, I'm going to upgrade to something that sounds less cheaply made.

It's amazing what can happen in 50 years

By William Stephens

from Fountain Valley

I've been playing since 1962 and back then an amplifier was an amazing piece of technology! I started with effects in the mid 60's with the Maestro Fuzztone, followed by the Wah-Wah and so on. I have had the monster pedal boards and just about every stomp box ever made and basically I was sick of chasing that dog anymore. When I saw this thing for this price I figured what the heck, I'll give it a try. I am impressed!!! It sounds fantastic and is one of the easiest devices to master... and that's coming from an old fart like me, kids should simply whiz through this one. I was told that this was cool to practice with in my "bedroom" by some youngster working at the store... ha ha!! I regularly gig out with this and use it in the studio as well, it's great and highly flexible, noise immune but does draw quite a bit of phantom power and I'm juicing it with 12VDC, not 9VDC... 9VDC seems to brown out a lot and I'm not going to use it's wall wart... too many little fiddley wires and whatnot onstage to contend with.

very plastic

By T

from kansas

Its a perfect plastic wanna play with big amps virtual stimulation gone bad , its ok for beginners , but anyone who wants a real tone out of their guitar , specially ones that scream and give a warm tubish tone , stay away from it, but if its yourself play-toy its ok but there are better processors

Great pedal

By Connor M.

from Omaha, NE

I like this pedal a lot, because it has a great tuner, a drum machine, and a great price. Lots of the effects aren't very good, but you can make your own effects by editing the original effects, and make it sound awesome. Could be a little bigger though. Overall great pedal.

Nice little pedle

By Dan E.

from Tacoma, WA

Nice little effects peddle for the money. Nice to program for a sound you want to use. It's nice to have if you don't want to spend a lot on a peddle board and have to lug that around. This is nice and small and lite! Really fun to work with, I like the head phones jack, I can practice at volume without bothering anyone.

Awesome addition

By Dan

from Blue Springs, MO

I received this pedal for Christmas and have been experimenting with it for 4 days now. Wow! I play classic country music, some 50's and 60's R&R and gospel mostly. The sounds I get from this pedal are great, especially the Tremolo, Vibrato, Reverb and Delay. I like the ease of changing from one preset to another while playing. I would recommend this to players of any experience.

Dont waste your money

By Will

from Paramus, NJ

There arent too many good things for this pedal. Some of the effects work ok but they take forever to set up and you can never get them just right. The distortion is awful. It is only very low levels and it kills your sustain. When you play the note it will hold for about 4 seconds then just drop out. Me and my friend who bought the pedal both have the same problems. It was cool for about 3 days but after that it sucked. I tried to trade it in but they would only give me $20 for it and I can see why. Dont waste your time or money with this pedal.

Forget about planning for a pedalboard.this thing solves it all!

By PaddleShifter

from New york,NY

I've had this thing for almost a year now only for the purpose of EQ, compression and removng hum.BUY THING THING IF YOU HATE HUM.and for what I can say, this thing DOES have it all and does it well, the fuzz,echo/reverb and volume/wah pedal are the superb effects you can get on this and still pretty good on overdrive with bluesy transparency and very hot-sounding metal distortion.although short on amps programmed, and the EQ is a bit weak unless you tweak it for very long,It doesn't seem to be very durable but i'd certainly buy if this thing breaks.whats more, its unbeatable for its price, you can buy a digitech with no wah for the same price,a behringer vamp for more but still with no contest to this one.

Not Bad for the money.

By Jeremy Williams

from Hamilton, Ohio

I have been playing guitar for quite a few years and I have had a lot of pedals and multi-effects at varying price points. This pedal is a great value for the money. The stereo out is a great plus and the volume/wah pedal is easy to use and has a decent sweep. The only gripe I have is the absence of a looper.(30 seconds would be enough) Other than that, I would not recommend this pedal for live use unless you map out what banks and presets you are using for your set. Recording with this thing is nice because of it's wide range of effects and it's stereo outs. Awesome! Check out the acoustic simulator as well. Money well spent. I hope this helps and I highly recommend this multi-effect.

Good for what it's meant for.

By peter andreev

from Philadelphia PA

First off, to the other reviewer complaining about the WAH always being on the display in the lower right corner...that tells you that the expression pedal will be a WAH if you turn it on. It's clear as day in the instructions. If you buy this pedal expecting it to replace a Tube Screamer, boutique delays, and other high quality pedals, then yes you'll be upset. The selling point of this product is that it's dozens of effects in one small package...obviously they're going to be lacking something. Having said that, the effects are pretty decent. I bought this pedal because I'm in a jazz masters degree program and I want to be able to quickly have a delay, reverb, and volume pedal at the drop of a hat in class. This pedal does just that. Everything else is a nice added bonus. It's pretty easy to learn how to program, took me about 15 minutes to get the hang of everything. My only complaint is I wish you could somehow quickly pull up a user preset. You have to overwrite the factory preset that comes up first (which is what I did because it was some cheesy metal sound) in order to have your preset come up first when you turn it on.
