  • MD 1 is perfect for the price.

As reviewed by Elvin Ross on 5/28/2010

I just bought the pedal because I like how it sounds. It doesn't add tons of low end and excessive high enc, like another metal pedal I own, and thank goodness. The shape control is right on. I'm a long-time working guitarist, have played through a number of OD/distortion pedals. For the price you get a metal case and true bypass, and GREAT sound. If it holds up interally, it's a steal. I don't work for GC.

  • Great for all types of Metal, on both Guitar and Bass

As reviewed by VincetheMusician on 12/31/2009

I got this for Christmas and it is awesome. It makes any guitar a metal machine. It works on my bass too. It really hits those low notes well and has great tone, the same as Cliff Burton's Solos. For guitar it can make any guitar sound like old school Metallica to Black Sabbath, To Bulets For My Valentine, To Dream Theater, pretty much anything. This is you best choice if you are a beginner, intermediate, or expert metal guitar or bass player, and the best value.

  • DeltaLab MD1, A Lotta Bang for the Buck

As reviewed by sam rucker on 2/23/2011

For $29.95 + shipping, I couldn't resist and I wasn't disappointed. At first I thought it was a little rough sounding (I had intended to order the DeltaLab "Tube Overdrive" but this one came instead), but when I listened to it recorded, in a mix, it sounded great. It seems to be really solidly constructed, although I haven't really moved it around much yet, and one great feature it that it turns off when you disconnect the input cord so you don't have to worry about wasting battery usage. I don't know yet how well it actually does as far as battery life while being in use. The auxiliary power jack is another good feature. One thing I have to mention: this is, I believe, the first time in my life I ever bought any piece of equipment that had the batteries included. I haven't been a big purchaser of guitar effects pedals...maybe this is normal. I thought at first it didn't work - the battery terminals were wisely covered with plastic tabs.
