This bass is probably your best bet to buy for a limited budget or want a great sounding bass. I have played with some other basses and they do not compete with this bass for the value and quality. No matter what you are, this bass will fulfill your needs and you will have extra money to buy an amp or effects. So overall, this is an amazing bass for a cheap affordable price.

I've had this bass for 5 months now and i thought i would write a review. There are a few pros and cons about this bass and thought i would let everyone know before they bought it. One amazing thing about this bass is its look. It looks amazing every time i look at it im still amazed that its mine, and where ever you go your bound to get several comments about it. Other than its original shape the sound is very good and clear. I used DR strings and D'addario and i prefer D'addario. Now the thing i dont like about this bass is the way you have to hold it combined with the action. After playing this bass for 5 months ive went to guitar center and played a normal shaped bass and i couldnt believe how fast i was able to play. This bass really takes away from playing fast and im disappointed because now i have to get a new bass so i can use my speed and have a good sound.

Only for rocking on stage or standing up

By D

from McDonough GA

This is a pretty good sounding bass, the lows and mids have fairly rich tones, highs are a bit weak though. This bass looks cool, though the design is a little frustrating. So if you ever want to sit down while you play bass, then this bass is not for you. The pickups are also ridiculously far from the neck for whatever reason. If you are good at plucking quick metal riffs then this bass will be awkward, as it seems to be more set up for someone who picks bass. All in all this thing looks sick, and definitely is awesome on stage, but this should be a backup or gig only bass, just because it is simply impractical just for playing.

Worth every penny!

By R. Reyell

I picked this beast up the other day, and for the price ya can't beat it. plays solid, looks awesome, and the neck is nice and easy to get your fingers around. The soap bar pickup gives all you need for the "rumble" especially in drop D tuning. I've always bought Dean guitars and after buying this beaut, I'll swear by Dean in 4-string's as well.

Pretty Good Bass

By Dan

from New York, NY

i will admitt i had this bass for about a year now and it's a pretty good bass. Good tone and awsome look. You can play many styles on this bass, its not just for metal i mean, i bought this bass and i play punk rock. So, yeah if your starting bass or just want a good looking bass to play with, i would recommend this bass by Dean Guitars.

Great buy, Great sound, Great look

By Jacob Bowdon

from Ohio

this dean bass is amazing but the only problem is that it is just impossible to play it sitting down, it slips all over the place and is really awkward, so if your a beginner and this is your first guitar you absolutely have to get a strap. My regret is that i didn't get a Z or an X because that would be a lot better sitting down. it does have a nice cool factor and even better sound, i didn't get a stand for a couple of months but it was fine because it supported itself. in my honest opinion it would probably be better to get a Z or X because it would be more comfortable, but if you have your heart set on a V go for it. it really is a great bass for metal or any other rock.

You get what you pay for

By Prowler515

from Seattle, WA

Played it at the local Guitar Center and I didn't get a good impression. It'd be nice as a backup or something, but not a cherished sidearm. The lame "C"-like neck was uncomfortable and discouraged speed and fluidity in playing. The lack of horns made it terrible to sit down and play. The lower arm kept hitting the stool I was siting on and I constantly had to look around to make sure I wasn't impaling anything. There was also a huge gap between the pickup and the neck which disturbed me for some reason. It would be a good guitar to sacrifice at the end of a gig, though...

Great Bass

By Chrislamagne

from Alabama

Wonderful bass for its price. Gives you a nice deep metal sound when you want it, but adjust the settings of your amp and you can easily play some slap, jazz bass. The soapbar on this puppy gives this bass a serious growl. Anyone with a little cash in their pocket can pick it up for a

A amazing bass for the price

By Calling Card

from portland OR

This is a amazing bass for the price. It has great sound, you can adjust the tone to make it sound more metaly or more flat depending on style. This bass is very easy to play, i play it fine with a pick or fingers. One thing i dont really like about this bass is the paint. Its black so it scratches and shows finger marks very easy. Its also very hard to play sitting down. The bass jack nut also always comes loss or falls off. This bass is a great value though

good for a rocker

By Jayman

from Canton, Mi

I own this bass as of last week, I think this is a very solid bass for on stage. for sitting down this bass doesent cut it, the body is just shaped way too funny for sitting down. as for the sound quality, this bass sounds really good with all sorts of effects and detuning.
