Overview

The Dean Rusty Cooley RC7X 7-String Wraith Electric Guitar was spec'd by Rusty to take shredding to the next level. It features a maple neck with an ebony fretboard and Cooley custom neck profile, 24 fast frets with Pearl Cooley inlays, and a 25.5 scale to facilitate wicked, shredding solos, and lightning-quick chord changes. Dual EMG-707 active humbuckers use 2 alnico magnet coils with a wide aperture to maintain a beefy low end and a fat top for loads of output, while the Floyd Rose Original locking trem unleashes harmonic-squeal madness. Includes case.

Rusty was named one of the top 20 fastest shredders of all time, and has been an influence on many guitarists including Mark Tremonti and John Petrucci.

Brutal Shredder

By eric goble

from Lake Oswego, Oregon

Comments about Dean Rusty Cooley RC7X 7-String Electric Guitar:

I'm not the greatest guitar player in the world by any means but having this guitar really helps me play better. As far as 7 string guitars go this guitar plays much nicer than the Ibanez and Jackson models I had previously. I really like being able to reach those high notes without the back of my hand running into the horn. Honestly, I always have two of the same guitar so I'm going to purchase the Rusty Cooley Signature RC7 XENOCIDE version next week. I really admire Rusty Cooley's playing and his input really made this a great guitar. After watching him play this guitar in YouTube videos I know the only thing holding me back is lack of practice and certainly not a deficiency in my guitar. I play Brutal Death Metal and this guitar sounds wicked sick into my two full 6505+ stacks running dry/wet. The pros of this guitar are fat frets, slim neck profile, heavy alder body, Floyd Rose and the sick graphics. About the only cons I can think of is I wish it wasn't quite so white and I'd like it if the entire neck was refinished because I don't really like the maple look but thats just a personal preference. As always, I bought this guitar from basically the most qualified, honest and truly sincere Guitar Center employee of all time Matt H at the Beaverton Oregon store.

Progressive guitar

Comments about Dean Rusty Cooley RC7X 7-String Electric Guitar:

It is a great instrument for prog/metal players. The neck radius is a good fit for me. I do not really care for ultra thin necks but this is a pretty good middle ground. It is a good guitar for someone who is looking for a mid point seven string guitar. My wife and kids got it for me for Christmas so it makes this guitar that much better.

Worth every dime!

By Russell Davis

Comments about Dean Rusty Cooley RC7X 7-String Electric Guitar:

1. I have been playing for 30+ years. 2. I play various types of music (Rock / Metal) - this guitar spans all of those categories. But, a tone knob could come in handy? 3. My hands and fingers are not "Paul Gilbert" hands and fingers, so I appreciate the thinner neck. 4. The artwork very detailed, the paint job is stellar. 5. The Floyd Rose is perfect. **** The price is spot on.

Comments about Dean Rusty Cooley RC7X 7-String Electric Guitar:

So I got this guitar for like $400 used at a guitar center. Amazing price I think someone made a mistake. I used this thing for a few months in absolute love because I was going through a death metal faze. One day these detectives show up to my door aggressively pushing into my house asking tons of question and take my guitar!!! I was so angry. Basically somebody stole this guitar sold it to guitar center and they sold it to me... I was so angry. This is an absolutely amazing guitar. I've been trying to find it and can get nowhere near what I paid for it.
