The Dean Razorback V 255 electric guitar features a mahogany neck and body and a rosewood fretboard. The V-shape neck has a strong, set joint and a 1-5/8" nut. Grover tuners and a locking tremolo keep you in perfect tune while you divebomb the night away. 24 fast frets facilitate wicked, shredding solos and lightning quick chord changes. The EMG pickups provide plenty of excellent tone. 3-way switching, volume and tone control keep things simple, yet tonally flexible, and with tons of presence.

Being a Dean guitar, the Razorback V 255 looks as good as it sounds. Dangerous-looking edges are highlighted by color-contrast bevels on the body and outlines on the famous Dean headstock. V inlays with Dime's razorblade at the twelfth fret plus all black hardware make this guitar wickedly stunning.

Dimebag Darrell Abbott's return to Dean Guitars was one of the many things cut far too short by his death near the end of 2004, but his many drawings and ideas have kept the guitar makers at Dean inspired. These Razorback V 255s were some of Darrell's final designs, and we're sure they will inspire you, too!

great guitar

By Thomas Davis

from Cleveland, Ohio

I have the two-tone sort of Silverburst version. This guitar sounds amazing for all types of music. I play anything from Nirvana to Morbid Angel and everything sounds great with these pickups. The only bad things I have to say are that the guitar is HUGE and the tremolo system is a real pain the tune with but it doesn't knock it out of tune. Overall, I think it was definitely worth the money. Only very minor things against it. Nothings perfect.

Greatest Guitar Ever Made... EVER!!!

By Wildchild

from Michigan

This guitar is probably the most versatile guitar I've ever had the privilage to pick up and play. The EMGs just add to the sweet looks, and playability of this beast. I believe it's made for metal, and should stay that way... But anyone could use it. It's on the top of my get list now.

Deadly Weapon!!!

By Volk

I bought this on a whim because the price was good and I've always wanted a guitar built specifically for metal. Man, I got much more than I bargained for!! First off, the EMG 81/85 combo is insane coming from a guy who has always played (various) Bare Knuckles in PRS and Les Paul guitars. One thing that truly amazes about the 81/85 combo is the note articulation. Wether set for screaming distortion or sparkling clean, the notes always comes through with clarity. They will definitely improve your chops or expose your weakness. The first thing I noticed was the perfect balance, as most V's tend to get lopsided. Then the overall size! This is not a guitar for a petite emo star. You are quite capable of defending yourself with it from the wayward stage-stormer without missing a beat. The neck has and interesting V shape as well, is thin and built for pure speed with the perfect taper. Finally a neck with a comfortable place for your thumb while ascending the fret-board, not to mention it facilitates huge bends in that it acts as an anchor point for your thumb as well. The fret placement is dead on thus providing perfect intonation and the upper register is laughably accessible. This, alone has encouraged me to spend much more time in the upper frets, which I dreaded before. The only down side is the "Licsensed" Floyd Rose trem, which needed to be set up. Mine cost me about $35 to have it set up for 10's (as it's set for 9's from the factory) and tuned down a half step. So far, I have abused the trem and it's stayed in tune with the occasional low E suffering sometimes. Overall, this is by far the best guitar I own, and I own several more costly guitars. If your going to really go bizzerk [sic] with the Floyd Rose, you might want to put out the $ for an original. But as far as comfort, control and all around playability, this is a rare find for the money! The only reason it didn't give it five stars is the trem. For beautiful vibrato and dives it's fine, and for me that's a minor issue minor, but I have to be honest for those who use it heavily for everything they play. Let it burn! BTW, I put a battery mod in mine so I'm running 24 volts instead of nine. But that's a whole other story.

So I Just recently got the 'Dean Razorback V 2.55 Blades Graphic' V, and I was blown away. Go by the specs on not the specs on here for THIS GUITAR! The specs on here are the EXPLOSION GRAPHIC specs. The Blades graphic finish comes with a ORIGINAL FLOYD ROSE, SEYMOUR DUNCAN DIMEBUCKER/DMT Dimetime, and a Darkened Rosewood Fretboard. It almost looks Ebony. Now onto the playability, EPIC!!!! The guitar has such a tremendous tone it is truely amazing. It Arrived fully set up for standard tuning (E-A-D-G-b-e)perfect Intonation and all. The Original Floyd holds tuning SO Well, not to mention the Grover tuners that work so smooth. One DBD traction knob, 3-Way toggle, and one Tone knob make it simple and effective on the electronics. One thing I warn on, is if you are used to a D, C, or Flat shaped neck, it will take some adjusting to, Since it has a Fairly deep V Neck contour. All in all though, Fantastic, GETCHA PULL!!

Very Impressive!!!

By Jallen

from Grand Rapids, MI

Got the Blades 225 about 2 weeks ago. Was amazed at how light it was compared to other Deans. Awesome thin, quick, light neck that you can blaze up and down on. I love the sound of the humbuckers. I compared them to my EMG 81 and 85, and I personally think the Dimebucker and Dimetime sound better. Tons of natural harmonics. The only downside is that it is my first V guitar, and extremely awkward in the sitting position, but thats my opinion. Great guitar Dean!!!

Looks Metal Sounds Metal, it is Metal

By Sean Martin

from Weatherford, Oklahoma

The Dean v 255 is just simply the best metal guitar that I have come by for its price. from Dive bombs to squeals the double locking Floyd Rose will keep you in tune, I personally love the EMG 81-85 pickups, they're the equivalent to Zakk Wylde's signature humbuckers on his guitar. This thing even looks like it belongs in a metal show but the pictures don't really show you the true color of the graphics itۡs just something you have to see for yourself. I just simply love this guitar and don't want anything else. Itۡs perfect for anyone who loves metal guitar playing and doesn't want to pay out a lot of money. I can honestly say I will never need another guitar than the Dean 255 explosion
