Having a killswitch on this guitar really makes it something else..... the fact that you don't have to make it by messing with your volume knobs lets you have a rhythm pickup AND a killswitch at the same time!!! Plus, Dean makes amazing guitars. My friend has the slimebolt razorback, and it is really hard to tell the disparity between his and this!! Just buy this guitar if you're in the market and you'll be satisfied!!!

i bought one brand new and it sounded amazing at first, everything was setup perfect, even in tune, but sound stopped comeing out after three days, so i drove back and returned it, got another one and after two weeks a loud buzzing noise started whenever you stopped touching metaal on the guitar, it was annoying ecspecially when you hit an open chord and as it faded out the buzzing faded in, other than the fact that it wouldn't last, and idk if i was just really unlucky or what, but it sounded great at first, the flat black looked nice, very light body, thin fast neck that was very comfortable and a nice killswitch, if you want to take the chance, go for it, but the two i had broke in either three daysor two weeks, the last time i returned it i got the schecter damien elite fr, which was very nice in the store( i had to try the solo bcs fr was out of stock but solo is just a diff body and no fr) but am waiting for it to ship to my house

Godly Axe

By Asa Jones

from Carthage Mississippi

This Guitar is Awesome! The pickups are top notch, the looks of this beast is outstanding, and the fretboard and string seperation is extremely comfortable. Plenty of space for your fingers, and is not a heavy guitar. This guitar has a true metal sound to it and the neck pickup portrays a beutiful clean sound. The Bridge pickup is unbelievable for chugging and shredding. Price DOES NOT indicate quality with this guitar, this is a must have legendary axe!

re review (my new baby)

By kevin

from owasso, oklahoma

wow, this guitar never ceases to amaze me. i started to have second thoughts about it when i started listening to jimi hendrix more than pantera, but the tone on this suits blues like a champ. its very easy to learn on also. my friends and family love it. oh, and the killswitch amazes people! ive been experimenting with it alot and my advice is to use it like a tap on with hammer ons/offs. its intense! oh and the case saved my life, while traveling the door to the jeep flung open and everything went into the middle of the road, but when i opened the case there wasn't a dent on it, or the guitar. only cons are that the killswitch was placed in the absolute worst position so it takes ninja skills to get to it while playing, and the fact that its a dime guitar without a tremelo? try putting your finger below the bridge and bending the strings in between it and the V string through part, it works okay.. thanks for reading! and i hope you can find your perfect guitar whether its this one or not :D

Dean's Rule

By KTC

from keller texas

I love it. The lead guitarist for my band has a Gibson Explorer, and honestly it hardly compares to this guitar. The neck is thinner and the pickups are a lot hotter. Only thing it's missing is a Floyd Rose. I love the kill switch, it's very fun to play with. Although it's an over-sized guitar, it's one of the lightest guitars I've played. I play my guitar through a Boss Metal Zone pedal and a Marshall stack, and it gets some really sweet tones. The harmonics are amazing. the bends are easy, and the action is great. I love playing riffs written by amazing bands such as Megadeth, Slayer, Sodom, Iron Maiden and Pantera, and this guitar can do it perfectly. One of these days I'm going to install a Dimebucker Pickup and further the tonal capability of this guitar. If you want a great metal tone and something that turns heads for an affordable price. Pick up a Dean Db!

my new baby.

By kevin

from owasso OK

great guitar! just came in today as an early birthday present from my parents, huge upgrade from my series ten fender fake... was everything i expected. it is my first new guitar, so i can't really compare it to anything. color is a flat black, not shiny like how it looks. i like the color better anyways. the case is really nice (worth about 100 alone, from what my friend told me). the guitar packs much more punch than the price, good for any skill level player!

A Good Guitar for the Dean Archives

By Tyler Maltes

from Chicago, Illinois

Wow. Thats all I can say about this guitar. Has a good feel to the neck and it can really pack a heavy tone. I would definitely recommend this guitar if you want to kick some dirt in someone's face (Not literally). Good price, great body, excellent headstock. Not too bad of a color, and it has that classic Dean feel to it. Not too bad for a 21 fretter if I say so myself.

Great on Budget

By Matt Pastrick

from Dayton. OH

Wow.. This is one amazing guitar for any metal enthusiast. The pickups in these guitars are so hot that they blew 2 different amp speakers i had. The neck is extremely fast and very easy to get around. The grover tuner keys are great for anyone that moves around from drop to standard tuning often. The killswitch is something new and doesnt hurt at all to try out. This is a must have for anyone looking for a perfect metal sound.

dimebag would like

By tom robinson

from butler nj

First off you don't find many guitars with a killswitch. This is one that sounds good, plays great and is affordable! I am impressed with this badboy. It is a looker aswell. The pickups are a little weak but not too bad, just my opinion. All in all not a bad deal!

Good for price

By gavin

from Avon Lake, Ohio

I played this at guitarcenter not expecting much out of a cheap guitar with a killswitch because from former experiences i will be playing and the killswitch will randoomly activate turning off my guitar.....NOT WITH THIS! I loved playing this! This guitar was excellent! the pickups, look, feel of the neck, and sound was very good for even a higher priced guitar. once i can scrap together a tad bit more money (witch shouldnt be long) im going to definately buy!

This is a very good guitar for beginners or any one that's just looking for a great guitar on a low price range it's really sturdy and the neck is really good the pickups are also very good so if you cant afford a level 3 guitar then this is the best one to go with so go check one out at guitar center.
