Great guitar!

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I just bought this guitar! It is really great. It has a nice bright full sound. I love the size and look! I got the transparent red one (Note the picture of the red is not accurate, the red is closer to bright cherry/candy apple red)! I replaced a full size dreadnought with it, and even with the smaller body size, the performer has really great sound and volume unplugged! I can't wait to try it plugged in. The only thing I'll have to get used to is no pickgaurd. Great guitar for the money!

Good starter

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar seven years ago as my very first guitar. Out of the box it is a little shaky. I would reccomend getting the action adjusted. I did a year or so after purchasing and it did wonders for the playability. Its sounds decent with a good set of strings. It projects very well with good volume and a warm tone. All in all for a first guitar to learn on its a great instrument. I would reccomend for an entry level instrument.

Awesome second guitar

By Keith Shaw-Binns

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased a $100 guitar from Walmart, to start teaching myself, and practiced for almost 12 months. My wife and one of my sons were impressed by my progression and decided to buy me this guitar as a surprise for Christmas 2009 (i'd been eying it up for weeks on the Guitar Center website). Well, my wife took me to Guitar Center in Naperville IL and as soon as I picked it up we bonded. I had it restrung with 11 strings and it sounds awesome, I also got an amp from my inlaws, which I rarely use because the guitar sounds so good unplugged. Now i'm playing along to some favorite songs plus some I never knew before, all self taught via the internet. I did have to have the guitar adjusted once, but it stays in tune forever when re tuned. I hope to be visiting again soon for my next guitar, but I won't be part exchanging my wonderful Dean :) By the way... I have double jointed fingers and cannot Barr chord, but don't let that put you off, I can play over 200 songs and my list grows weekly... I have to add, I love visiting Guitar Center, the staff are like friends they never presure you and are so informed about what they sell. Thank you Guitar Center!!!

AWESOME

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Just purchased mine a couple days ago, and man is it worth the money. Plays and feels like a $1000+ guitar. The sound is really nice and the onboard electronics work great. This is my first Dean and I will definitely own more in the future. Cannot say enough good about it. I am convinced you won't find anything close to it in the price range. Dean has a new customer for life.

Lets play

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Purchased this to improve playing ability and frequency of playing seeing how ya can just bring it anywhere ya want to... Opened up the box and was immediatly impressed with this guitar. Most likely not a live stage instrument unless in the proper hands, however and extremely excellent practice and learning tool I would recommend to anyone at this price.. I have played others around this price range and this one is TOPS..

Great, Great Guitar

By Zach

from Boston, MA

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I got this Performer in Classic Black. Right when I got it, I was astounded, by not only the look, but by who crisp the sound was. On top of that, the tuner is amazing. It is one of the most accurate tuners that I have ever used. It is extraordinary when it is either plugged in or unplugged. When I performed with this Dean, it came to life, and was complemented on it by more than one person. If you want a cheap acoustic-electric, this is definitly the way to go.

EPIC Acoustic Axe!

By Paul Lowery

from Schenectady, New York

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is all I expected of it and more. I ordered mine online in the blue sunburst finish and when I got it I couldn't believe my eyes. It comes with a LOT of premium features for an UNBELIEVABLY low price. High quality finish, multi-ply binding, an abalone rosette, and MORE. I got mine from Guitarcenter.com to replace my Ovation Celebrity, and I know what you're thinking...."Buying a Dean to replace an Ovation! Idiot." Well.....I love this Dean more than I ever loved my Ovation but that's just me. One thing I noticed is it didn't come with the tuner/preamp shown in the picture, it came with a BETTER one a Dean i2Nr preamp w/ built-in tuner and let me tell you it is EPIC! Now for the sound, unplugged this axe has a full, rich, raw acoustic sound but plugged in to my Marshall, this thing comes ALIVE!!!! No other guitar in my collection can out match it! Overall, if you like Deans and you want an affordable, good sounding, acoustic axe.....BUY THIS GUITAR!!!!!!

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Just got her today...natural finish.I also own a Gibson hummingbird and a martin D-16.Here is my take on this guitar.1st it really bugs me that people buy this type of guitar and start trying to compare to the over-priced brands.First thing i did was set the action and replace the strings with martin silk and steel and what you have is a very sweet sounding auditorium size guitar.Thats not meant to compare with the big Dreads buy gibson and martin. If thats what you really want to hear you are just going to have to shell out the big bucks and buy one and stop slamming these guitars.I plugged my dean into a roland ac-60 and the sound was very pleasing and clean. You can take my martin and plug into a cheap amp or P.A and it will sound hollow..You just have to know how to make everything blend. When im alone playing i would be just as happy to play the dean as well as my gibson but if im going to jam with a band i want the gibson or martin i would not expect the dean to perform in that situation. You just buy any guitar based on what you are going to use it for.And it took me some time myself to realize that too. There are some pretty good guitars coming from china and indonesia these days with decent sound and craftsmanship is pretty darn good these days.As players we have alot more choices these days..Enjoy what you have or spend more money..You will not get times the sound for times the money..belive me i have tried.
