This was the first guitar ...

By rebelpunkjeff

from Chandler, AZ

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This was the first guitar i ever purchased. Now i own five more, this one still captivates me. I use it more then all of the others combined. It has amazing sound and tone. My latest buy was approximitly $200 more then this one, and it just doesn't creat the same effect that this guitar has had on me. For the price this guitar is a must have if you want great sound.

Playablity

By Johnnyice

from Belford, NJ

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is a very playable guitar. Nice feel, easy to play. Sounds quite good for a small body guitar. I play mine every day. I can only imagine that it will sound even better with age. Was perfect out of the box, didn't need to do a thing. The tuner really works & the guitar stays in tune. Excellent value.

Once again Dean does it

By Guitarguy32

from Mazomanie, WI

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I recently bought this guitar because of name and rep. alone. Turns out it was a great purchase. I would say that after I bought my first Dean I won't play anything else. The thing of it is for the price you pay you get great quality with awsome tone! This guitar could use a little better electronics but the actual acoustic sound is comperable to guitars three times the price. All said great for beginners and pros the same.

Pleased with my purchase

By Joey Opal

from Oak Ridge, TN

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is my first guitar. I have been playing it now for 4 months. I like everything about this guitar. My wife just bought me a small practice amp for Father's Day and I am thrilled to be able to hear it plugged and unplugged. It sounds great either way. I chose this one so I could learn on an acoustic and still be able to play with the electric features. I look forward to getting many years of satisfaction. Thanks Dean.

Hot Dang

By Maxwell

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Got this Guitar to use in Afghanistan, thought I would be able to bang it around a little bit. After I got it and heard the quality of sound I fought extra hard to bring it back in one piece. Everything about this guitar is great. If you are looking for a great guitar at an excellent price, here is your deal.

Not only does it have great action but it also sounds wonderful and is ideal for recording. I work in a recording studio and this was ideal for recording my own songs. love it!

Great Guitar

By Rob

from San Diego

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have had this guitar for about 3 months now. I read a few reviews where some of these guitars are having a buzzing on certain frets on certain strings. I havenۡt had that problem but I have been watching out for it just in case. This guitar holds its tone. The action on the fret board is light enough to use heavier gauge strings with no problem. At least for me, I guess some people are having a buzzing. The tuner works pretty good. There is standard connection to your amp but there is also an XLR connection for connecting to a PA. Or if you have the XLR Patch cable you could plug and play that way too. Acoustically this thing sound pretty good. I think that for the price range it is in this is the best sounding small body there is right now. Amplified this guitar sounds great. Basically this guitar should be more than it is and I have no problems getting rid of my Ibanez now that I have this Dean.

Dean Performer E

By sohaibh

from Warwick, RI

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is one of my favorite guitars. It sounds unbelievable. The guitar didnt have a good setup out of the box. The neck was bowed. The Nut needed to be filed down. But after the setup, it is just a delight to play. The guitar stays in tune. It is truly a delight to play. The guitar is loud and sounds really good plugged in or unplugged. I really wish it had a cutaway. That would make it a perfect guitar.

For the Price ^_^

By Aaron S.

from Tracy CA

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is a very good guitar for the price. I was a bit iffy getting it before playing it but once it came in I was so pleased. The neck is really fast for an acoustic. I got mine in black so I fight to keep it clean. The electronics are great and really come in handy. The sound is pretty good unplugged but comes to life plugged in. Now I'm saving up up for a Dean Exotcia RSE Supreme since i can get it for around the same price as this one. Overall, great guitar though not a Taylor, Martin, or Gibson. This model is great but go to a higher Dean model once more experienced.

Two Thumbs Up

By Tanner Garber

from Zanesville, OH

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar for about a year now. I was blown away by the aesthetics and tone of this guitar from the moment I took it out of the box(I got the blue sunburst finish). For the price, Dean has put together an awesome package with this one. Paired with a nice set of Elixer strings, this baby can sing with the Hummingbirds(pun intended). I recommend this guitar to someone who is just starting out, it wont let you down.

AWESOME

By Rob

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Just purchased mine a couple days ago, and man is it worth the money. Plays and feels like a $1000+ guitar. The sound is really nice and the onboard electronics work great. This is my first Dean and I will definitely own more in the future. Cannot say enough good about it. I am convinced you won't find anything close to it in the price range. Dean has a new customer for life.

The Dean Performer E

By ChrisL

from Dallas, TX

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Since I bought this guitar, I have rarely played anything else. The sound and playability is comparable to any Martin I've ever played. The tuner works great, but I rarely need to use it. It sounds great through any PA or just sitting in your room. The finish looks great and to top it off it won't empty your pocketbook!

absolutley fantastic!

By DJ McCLure

from Chicago IL

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought my first guitar on October 5th 1999 and still play it to this day, on a regular basis. The Dean Performer E acoustic-electric is a fantastic piece of musical artwork all of itself. Unbelievably durable thanks to Dean's impecable bracing system within the soundboard. The harmony of the guitar is unmatchable as well. I play just about every type of music genre. I'm hardly the best, but this guitar does me much justice every weekend's show. I have 5 guitars now, but for 9 years I've solidified my favorite performing masterpiece. The Dean Performer E stays together and sounds better every day that I take it for a musical walk. Dean did a fantastic job. 3 Thumbs Up.

EPIC Acoustic Axe!

By Paul Lowery

from Schenectady, New York

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is all I expected of it and more. I ordered mine online in the blue sunburst finish and when I got it I couldn't believe my eyes. It comes with a LOT of premium features for an UNBELIEVABLY low price. High quality finish, multi-ply binding, an abalone rosette, and MORE. I got mine from Guitarcenter.com to replace my Ovation Celebrity, and I know what you're thinking...."Buying a Dean to replace an Ovation! Idiot." Well.....I love this Dean more than I ever loved my Ovation but that's just me. One thing I noticed is it didn't come with the tuner/preamp shown in the picture, it came with a BETTER one a Dean i2Nr preamp w/ built-in tuner and let me tell you it is EPIC! Now for the sound, unplugged this axe has a full, rich, raw acoustic sound but plugged in to my Marshall, this thing comes ALIVE!!!! No other guitar in my collection can out match it! Overall, if you like Deans and you want an affordable, good sounding, acoustic axe.....BUY THIS GUITAR!!!!!!

This is a great guitar!!

By David

from Denton

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is by far one of the best out there. It has a rich full sound that does not just hit heavy on the high side like mopst other acoustic guitars (through a sytem or unplugged). It has great action on the fret board and you can play any style you want and it will sound good out of this guitar. One of my best instrument purchases if not the best. You will be happy with it.

Worth the cash, but you'll spend a bit more fixing it.

By Beau Robinson

from Milton, Wa.

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I did not buy my Performer through G.C., but from Ebay. It's the same guitar, I paid the same price, but when it arrived, the center brace, directly under the sound hole was broken. I could have sent it back, but since it would not stay in tune very long, I just sent it to my pal Joe Reggio, the guitar tech. Joe reworked the frets, glued the brace and now this guitar plays very nicely, stays in tune. The battery tuner works, but it's easy to leave it on accidentally and run the battery down. And the fingerboard is a tad narrow, so if you have large hands and fingers, you may wish to consider a larger bodied guitar. That said, I like this smaller, brite sounding guitar, it's a good value. Just plan on having it set up and you won't be disappointed.

Great, Great Guitar

By Zach

from Boston, MA

Comments about Dean Performer E Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I got this Performer in Classic Black. Right when I got it, I was astounded, by not only the look, but by who crisp the sound was. On top of that, the tuner is amazing. It is one of the most accurate tuners that I have ever used. It is extraordinary when it is either plugged in or unplugged. When I performed with this Dean, it came to life, and was complemented on it by more than one person. If you want a cheap acoustic-electric, this is definitly the way to go.
