Overview

The Dean Exhibition Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Aphex is designed to be a perfect companion onstage.

Made with mahogany, the thin body of the Exhibition adds comfort while helping to reduce feedback when plugged in. The slim D-shaped profile of the set mahogany neck is extremely comfortable for electric guitarists and features a 25-1/4" scale. Appointments include a smooth ebony fingerboard, pearl diamond inlays, black NuBone nut & saddle, Grover tuners, and DMT electronics with Aphex Aural Exciter.

Aurel Exciter
Optimized for Dean's acoustic/electric guitars, the Aurel Exciter adds air, bite, definition, percussive attack, and better clarity by enhancing the natural harmonics of the sound. No other exciter has the musicality of the true Aurel Exciter found in Dena acoustic/electric guitars.

Big Bottom
The Aphex Big Bottom circuit dynamically enhances the low end by deepening and expanding the bass tones according to an adaptive process. It's not just an equalizer boost - it increases volume before feedback. The effect fattens the tone while it extends the guitar's bass producing capability. The Aphex brings out the box and adds a warmer tone that makes your guitar sound bigger and fuller.

Simply press the Aphex button and the guitar comes alive. Experience world class studio/live enhancement of your sound. Case sold separately.

Comments about Dean Exhibition thin Body Acoustic-Electric Guitar w/Aphex:

I own a yamaha thin body and it just didn't have the sound I was looking for, so I was in search of a thin body with bigger sound and I found it...right here! As a female, I appreciate the thinner style for comfort but have always craved more sound. This guitar is amazing on every level! The color is beautiful and the style is great! Nice thin neck and low action makes playing a breeze! It's perfect for a beginner or the professional!

Comments about Dean Exhibition thin Body Acoustic-Electric Guitar w/Aphex:

I bought this as a gift for my grandson to upgrade from the base model I bought him 5 years ago when he was learning to play. The difference in the sound between the two is amazing. He was thrilled with the quality and sound. The product shipped fast and arrived without a scratch.

Comments about Dean Exhibition thin Body Acoustic-Electric Guitar w/Aphex:

This guitar sounds good unplugged not great but good. Plug it into an amp and this thing comes alive. I haven't gotten an acoustic amp yet but even played through my crate electric amp it sounds great. I also like that this guitar feels and plays like my electric with the thin neck. I will take it to get the action lowered but it's not to bad right out of the box. Nice guitar for the price.

Comments about Dean Exhibition thin Body Acoustic-Electric Guitar w/Aphex:

Dean Exhibition A/E (Koa) seems designed for pro electric guitar players who aren't used to playing acoustics. Thinner than most acoustics, has decent action, has a low impedance input jack as well as high, quality is excellent, and sounds surprisingly full and sweet for a smaller acoustic. Maybe slightly quieter unplugged than larger acoustics, but it has a preamp and is designed to plug in and play live. Great guitar.

        Great value for the money

        By Michael

Comments about Dean Exhibition thin Body Acoustic-Electric Guitar w/Aphex:

I purchased the Koa Exhibition style in November 2014, and I love it. I had read reviews regarding the high action of these guitars, and I was somewhat concerned. Let me tell you - right out of the box, the action was pretty much the LOWEST that I've ever seen an acoustic, and that with no fret buzz, and perfect intonation at the 12 fret. Stays in tune, the guitar sounds beautiful. And I love the finish. The feel of the neck is just like my electrics,so it's very comfortable, if you are used to that kind of guitar. The Aphex on-board electronics are OK, but I use my amps for tone control, so that is a neutral subject for me. I recommend this guitar, it's great.

Comments about Dean Exhibition thin Body Acoustic-Electric Guitar w/Aphex:

I bought this guitar kind of suspicious at first of what it would sound like but this guitar sounds SO GOOD! The koa wood makes the sound just resonate louder and it sounds amazing acoustically and electronically through a PA, and amp, and whatever else you use! Although it is a little bit smaller than it looks it Sounds HUGE and amazing with aphex or even without! Buy this guitar and you wont regret it!

          Worth twice what I paid

          By William Frey

Comments about Dean Exhibition thin Body Acoustic-Electric Guitar w/Aphex:

Getting back into playing after many years. Have a Yamaha Eterna and wanted something thinner. The exibition fit the bill, figured would need an amp being an acoustic electric but was'nt the case. Though I do have an amp. This guitar sounds fantastic unplugged. Comes strung with D'Addario strings, stays in tune well. Will get the action lowered after I break it in a little... though the action isn't bad as is. Got mine in the satin natural finish; very nice. Feels great in my hands. I dont want to put it down. I bought it after doing online research totally unplayed and I have'nt been disapointed. Big risk ... but great reward. I'm a believer in Dean guitars and will be owning more.

IF YOU PLAY ELECTRIC YOU WILL LOVE THIS GUITAR

          By John Longino

from The best state in the US - Texas

Comments about Dean Exhibition thin Body Acoustic-Electric Guitar w/Aphex:

I primarily play electrics. Almost all are Korean made except for my 2011 American Standard Fat Strat that isn't as good as my 2003 Epi Les Paul or my 2010 BC Rich Gunslinger (both made in Korea.) This is the only acoustic guitar that I have ever played and liked to play. It has low action (after I sanded the bridge down) and doesn't feed back unless I play really loud. I play through a Kustom Sienna 30 watt amp. I can hook the Sienna amp to my custom 2 x 12 cabinet and it still sounds good only louder. I have also played it through a Vox Pathfinder and it sounded good. Out of curiosity I plugged it into my Peavy Bandit (Clean Vintage channel) and is was loud and didn't feed back. Here is all you really need to know. This is the only acoustic guitar that I have ever owned that will get the cops called to my house without feedback. Do I need to say more?
All you need to know is this thing can get loud without turning into a squealing pig.
You will need to lower the bridge to get decent action like on all acoustics but don't be afraid its not that hard. Pull the bridge out and sand it down. That's all there is to it.
The Chinese are starting to build guitars the way South Koreans did 10 years ago. Don't be afraid of Chinese guitars anymore. They finally know what they are doing.
