  • Worth It

As reviewed by Nate A on 12/4/2009

This guitar is awesome. I am a novice guitar player, learning everything i can about how they work and how to play'em. I have three guitars, all entry level, squier strat, b.c. rich warlock, and my new dean vendetta, and love them all. This one is especially unique to me because of the light weight. I love the 24 frets and the tremelo on it. Everything seems to be in order hardware wise, but ive only had it for a day now. I would not suggest ordering online though, go to your local Guitar Center and check it out. The techs there can look it over if you dont know what to look for. Im going to go get this set-up in the next couple of days so it is in peak condition, but even with my standard tuning it sounds great and feels great. The satin natural finish is nice because it isn't as common of a look making it stand out amongst other axes. Buying an axe is like bbuying a car though, test drive and make sure it is right for you before you buy, im sure you will be impressed.

  • Great Sound, Quality & Features!

As reviewed by Tyler S on 4/14/2010

The Vendetta XMT is really the best deal in this price range. The sound is warm, clean, and crisp. Great never-ending sustain, as others have mentioned. I was really surprised by the craftsmanship/fit & finish. No flaws at all on mine. VERY attractive Paulownia body, super light. It's worth mentioning things like the finished headstock & truss rod cover. Pickups with individually adjustable pole pieces. 24 frets. All things you don't normally find in this price range. Solid electronics, and milled aluminum knobs. This is the only "starter" priced guitar I will put on a stand next to guitars costing much more. I pretty much keep my other inexpensive practice guitars hidden. It's very impressive for the money! Has me wanting to buy another Dean!

I,ve had this guitar for about a year now, and the only problem I,ve had is having to re-tightening a few screws. It still sounds great, especially when u consider the price, it sound way better than my import Fender Strat, and even better than my freinds Js Dinky by Jackson, both of which are (22 fret) axes. This Dean is a real (24 fret) full size guitar. I don't use the whammy bar that comes with it, so I can't say anything about it. I will say that i wish it had a faster neck now that my skills are improving, but I may never sell this axe; I still love it, and play it almost every day. I hope this review was helpful to u
