This is a a very well made case. (Of course, because of that it weighs a lot.) I use it for a Gibson Flying V, and it fits perfectly. The body is completely surrounded by foam, which doesn't seem the best design. It seems a V-shaped bulkhead would be better, so that you could keep a tuner or a cord or tools in the resulting V-shaped chamber that would leave. There are two bulkheads across the case, one just past the neck joint, and one near the nut, with a hinged panel between them for storage. That makes a pretty big space. There is a velcro-at-both-ends strap that goes across the neck at the bulkhead near the neck joint. The velcro doesn't hold very well, and being unattached at both ends, the strap could get lost. Seems a strap anchored at one end, and with a latch at the other would be better. But even so, any strap at all is better than virtually every other case I've ever seen. The chrome-plated latches (4 of them; the picture shows only 3 brass latches) seem like they should have a little more tension on them when they shut--they don't really snap over center as much as it seems they ought to; but they don't fall open, or anything like that. The catches at each end are locking clasps (rather than there being just one lock), and the locks seems very, very hard to tamper with. They lock and unlocks with a really firm "snap." This case has a really prominent Dean logo on the lid (doesn't show in the photos), apparently spray painted through a stencil. I do wish that weren't there, since I have a Gibson in the case, and I will probably do something about that. It appears the spraying over it with satin finish black spray paint will result in a covering of the log that will make it appear there was never anything there. Over all, I'm delight to have this case.
Case is a black beauty, wonderful to behold. Guitar fits like a glove in black velvet interior. Big storage compartment for strap and guitar chords, effects box, etc. Plenty of latches. Trimmed with leather.
The case for the Dean V's fits the instrument like a glove. There is a lot of padding in the bottom of the case as well as the top and it has a big storage area. The case is very sturdy and manufactured very well and it has 2 locks on the clasps.
