  • Not what it seems....

As reviewed by Dean Hater93 on 1/24/2010

I bought this guitar becuase it looks cool and thought it would sound amazing...but i was dead wrong. I play in a metal band and when I played this guitar during one of my shows it was horrible. Its easy tp play but it's really uncomfortable and the tone sounds like trash. i play every style of music and it does not sound good for any type. Don't waste your money on this bass or any guitar by dean, trust me, there are a lot more better brands than dean

  • Very disappointed!

As reviewed by Jimmy L. on 4/27/2010

I had to order this bass because it was out of stock in the store. It "looked" nice in the internet picture on Guitar Center website. After waiting 2 weeks for it to arrive, it was a birthday present for my son, I looked at it briefly in the box and it seemed ok at a glance. Almost a week later I gave it to my son and right when he took it out of the box he noticed that the knobs were all very loose and when plugged in to amp didn't even work. The cover plate on the opposite side of the knobs; backside of bass, was a little loose. I took the plate off and the wiring for the knobs was all broken apart. Not to mention the soldering looked like a 3 year old did it. Very cheap and poor craftsmanship. I called the store and the next day brought it in for store credit with manager. He said he had never heard of this being like this before from the factory. Whatever. I got my son a nice Epiphone Bass for a little cheaper and my son loves it. Stay away from this bass - poor quality.

  • Love this thing

As reviewed by Zakk on 4/27/2010

I have had this bass for almost two years, and to be honest, I love it. When I first got it, it sounded great. Only problem was it was a bit uncomfortable from frets 1-3 while sitting down, but it was fine when standing. I love Dean, and I wouldn't play anything else. However, there is a bit of a recent problem. I have been getting a lot of fuzz from the bass, and I was thinking of replacing the stock pickups for some EMGs. All in all, works great, but a hardware upgrade wouldnt be a bad idea.
