This bass plays surprisingly well. I loved the shape and style of it and I have no complaints with the way it sounds. Overall it's a good bass, I don't really mind the weight as much, I found it to be heavier than my other basses but then again I never found it bothersome, just put a good quality strap on it. My only concern is that there's not really many comfortable places where you can put your thumb when you play with your finger but that's not much of an issue for me since I mostly use a pick when I can. Other downside to this bass is the cost of the case and/or gig bag. I don't doubt their quality but it'll hurt your wallet if you're on a budget like me.

When I first got this bass, I loved it. Sounded great, much lighter than my previous bass, and looked awesome. It wasn't until I tried putting it in my gig bag that I realize what Dean pulled. The bag didn't fit, and the only case that would fit was one only Dean makes that cost way more than regular hard cases, $130. Also, because of its design, you don't have a place to rest your arm while playing standing up. So I wouldn't recommend this bass to someone that only has enough for it and plays finger style, if you play with a pick and have the money for the case go for it.

This is THE most metal bass a person can have. Lightweight, good pickups, etc. Dean isn't lying when they say metalman. You are a metal man with this bass.
