I have used the Dean Markley Vintage Bronze Med-Light Acoustic Strings for many years now. I almost never brake a string. These are very tough, & the sound quality is outstanding. These strings also last a long time because they are made to be tarnish-resistant. They retain that new string sound longer than any other string I've ever used. They make my Martin 000-15 & Martin D28 sound incredible.

I bought three of these strings. When I put them on, they weren't that good. They broke in a little because of play. They had a plain tone. There was nothing special, but they had long life. They weren't bad. I would think of them to be more useful for a novice or for practice.

Comments about Dean Markley 2004 Vintage Bronze, Medium Light, 12-54:

As far as strings go, dean markley are the best choice! These strings as well as the other dean markley strings are my first choice when I go to buy strings! They come pre-stretched so the break in period is very short. The sound of these strings on my guitars is incomparable with any other brand of strings. The sound great and last long! Plus, I find the dean markley cheaper than most other brands! I'd say all around best set of strings for the money!

Doesn't last, or could be just me

    By Henry Cheng

    from CA

Comments about Dean Markley 2004 Vintage Bronze, Medium Light, 12-54:

These strings are great when I put them on my Breedlove Atlas, sounds bright and different from the popular phosphorous bronze strings. It works great and sounds right; however, after I applied GHS fast-fret onto the strings, I feel there's something different about the strings, it becomes dull and kind of sticky feeling, not as bright and fresh as it used to be. After couple days, the strings are just dead. It lost it's bright color and the tone was just muddy with no high's and no definition on the low's, basically a corroded, dead strings' feeling. As a comparison, the fast-fret works great with my MXR and Elixir phosphorous bronze, so in my opinion it's not likely to be the fast-fret's problem. It may be my fault to put string oil on it, but I'm not so sure if that's really the problem.Anyways, if by any chance I need to use them again(during emergency situation I guess), I would leave it w/out the string oil and come back for more reviews.

Vintage Strings For A Seagull Guitar

    By Flood

    from Brooklyn, New York

Comments about Dean Markley 2004 Vintage Bronze, Medium Light, 12-54:

I decided to put these strings after having the Red Strings For a Long Time on the guitar. I love the Red Strings because it makes the sound of the guitar even warmer. But, I noticed that the Dean Markley makes the guitar have a crisp metal sound. It makes me of the word that I made up as being "Brassy" when it comes to the sound difference. I like hearing the difference a string set can make and it makes it harder to decide which is my favorite. I was surprised that these string set are coated to slow the down the tarnish on the strings. For the price, it is worth buying. I don't know how a vintage string suppose to sound like and I thought to give it a try. Peace, Flood!

Bestest Strings than I could put on my guitar

Comments about Dean Markley 2004 Vintage Bronze, Medium Light, 12-54:

I started using these acoustic strings in June of this year and i actually like the mellow tone that brings out of my Dean Performer E because its not the best acoustic out there and it brings out a ringing/mellow balanced tone for a good lasting of 2 to 3 days, but really really good strings for not breaking the much

    The Only Strings I Use

    By The Jason Dixon Line

    from Minneapolis, MN

Comments about Dean Markley 2004 Vintage Bronze, Medium Light, 12-54:

I own a Martin 000-15 (Solid Mahogany Top & Body). It is a very distinct sounding guitar. Very deep, warm, rich sounding. I brought it into a well respected acoustic shop. The resident master luthier told me that the Martin Marquee's I was using were not desined for that guitar. He recomended Martin SP 80/20 Brass Strings. When I got the guitar back from the shop I was disgusted with the unbalanced sound it made. I had remembered that when I 1st got the guitar, it was strung with Dean Markley ML's. I went out & bought some. It made a HUGE difference! My guitar now sounds better than ever! Now I will string my guitar with Dean Markley ML's forever!

    Disappointed

    By Daniel-eX88u

Comments about Dean Markley 2004 Vintage Bronze, Medium Light, 12-54:

These strings, brand new, sounded just like the 5-6 month old strings they replaced. No brightness, no ring; absolutely dull.Maybe I got a bad batch, but I won't buy them again.
