I play a minimum of two hours a day; Four hours for shows. I usually change strings every two / three months. I'm coming up on three months using Dean Markley 2000's and haven't noticed a significant tonal change. They still sound virtually new. Great strings! I really appreciate the extra growl while sliding up the neck as well as ease of bending into or out of a note. These taper wrap strings provide the custom sound that gives me an edge when auditioning, playing or recording. Excellent in the sustain department as well. The only compromise I've noticed is because they are so sensitive to vibration, I pick up more side to side string noise when slapping & popping than with non taper strings. Byproduct - makes me be sharper in hand technique. If slapping & popping are your mainstay, these may not be the best for that genre. All other styles I find these strings to be absolutely superior.
