  • Switched to Blue Steel and never looked back...

As reviewed by Beveled Edges on 10/29/2009

For several years, I used a variety of strings. I tried a new brand every time, until I bought a set of Dean Markley Blue Steel strings. Since then, they have been my string of choice. The tone of the strings on my Guild is second to none. They usually get replaced when I get tired of looking at dingy strings. At first, I had problems with the E and B strings breaking, but a luthier friend suggested looking at the nut and saddle, not the strings. Great advice! I had a new bone nut and saddle installed and professionally adjusted and no more breakage!

  • Some Of the Greatest Strings Ever!

As reviewed by Charles DeWeese on 12/22/2008

92% Copper 8 % Zinc! That's how I like 'em. These strings are the perfect string for my Epiphone Masterbilt DR500RNS. I love these strings much better than costlier strings. Those cryogenics are amazing treatment for this string. I love this tone! I've been using them for a year and a half already and I just ordered 3 more sets. Dean Markley makes great acoustic strings. They last a good while too. They give such a sweet tone when I am playing worship music in my congregation. They sound so good it makes me cry on a number of occasions.

  • Cryogenic Strings

As reviewed by GuitarPlayer on 10/13/2006

Although these strings do their job, I am not sure that the "liquid nitrogen" part of their manufacturing really helps at all. They sound ok and last about the same as most other strings. They are slightly more expensive than some D'Addarios and Martins and arent really any better. The idea is cool but you are just left with average strings.
