  • ahh-mazing.

As reviewed by Brandi on 12/31/2009

So, I got this guitar for Christmas, having picked it out at GC a few weeks prior. The fluorescent colors just popped out at me and caught my eye and my heart. I picked the green one, because yellow was just too blinding. The neck is really smooth and the fretboard is soooo fast and easy to play on. The day after I got it, I ran over to a local music store and got EMG's on it. How does it sound now? AHH-FREAKING-MAZING.

  • Dean MLX

As reviewed by Brandon L on 5/27/2010

I have used this guitar at my local guitar store, and it is quite good. The pickups are good too. Other then that, there is bad news. This guitar feels extremely cheap, including the materials. One of the tone knobs fell off, and the jack to plug in your cable was loose, 30 seconds after I started playing. It is a great beginner guitar, but not for people who have been playing for a long time. I have been playing for around 4.5 to 5 years. It is good value though for the money. Also, there should be more colour choices. The green and yellow choices don't look good at all. It gets out of tune very often, and the tuners are cheap and sloppy. Overall, it's an okay guitar, but it is a good marketing guitar. There should be a minimum of 3-4 colour choices.

  • China must be getting busy

As reviewed by William on 1/19/2010

I have been playing for 45 years now and though retired and after going and buying Ernie Balls in the last year along with a few others i decided i wanted to go back in time with myself without spending big bucks and get another Dean ML. Now to be honest the Dayton GC sucks as far as what they keep in stock they really do and i worked for GC when GC was GC and only had 45 stores back in the day in Hollywood and Sherman Oaks then all of them. This is the worse stocked store ever in their line(Marty shame on you). Anyway i wanted this Yellow ML China made Dean. Wife went and got it and i never held guitar till she got it home. Action was high but i've been playing guitars like that all my life so no big deal,i could adjust it. So far i have not changed a thing on this thing. For Chinese made it stays in tune great,i can shredd on it and personally i think the pups sound pretty good. Neck is smooth and fast and very low *C* profile, easy on small hands. I have plenty of high end guitars, i am still banging away at this one for 1 week ago. I think for a beginner playing rock this is a good guitar if you can get use to the shape(some can't). If your a *Player* get the thing adjusted the way you like it and add some of your own pups and go bang the hell out of this at your gigs and keep the real one's at home. It's worth the money.
