  • Clean, Loud, Bright!!!

As reviewed by mcbain on 11/2/2006

Ive owned this acoustic for about a year now. It amazes me everytime I play it. It booms really loud when strumed but it still has all the definition of a $3000 guitar. I dont use the electronics on it really, I prefer to hear the strings ring out. I use Elixir 11's usually but even cheap 3 dollar strings sound fantastic with this guitar. The jumbo size took some getting use to, but this is the best value in an acoustic ive come accross

  • great guitar

As reviewed by ramsey1010 on 6/25/2010

Honestly this is the best acoustic I've played. I ordered mine online so there was that whole never buy a guitar you haven't played before thing, but I thought I'd take a chance (return policiy is great) and it payed off. This guitar sounded great out of the box. The low end rings forever and a day. It is great for blues stuff. The body is big and picks up every little note and is super responsive and the guitar itself is beautiful. I'm really surprised by the price, it should cost alot more. Dean makes a high quality instrument. Also I just think how the built in tuner uses the dean logo is creative.

  • Awesome Guitar!

As reviewed by tom on 11/22/2010

I bought this guitar mainly to replace my Ibanez. I was planning on taking the ibanez home and leaving it there in a few weeks and needed another guitar to take that ones place. I did tons of research and even though I had enough money for a lower end Martin this Dean just caught my eye.. I recieved it today and all can say is...WOW. I expected it to be a decent guitar but it completley blew me away! I changed the strings to some Elixir's before even playing it the first time and was slightly angry because i was getting a lot of fret buzz from the 4th fret up but a quick truss rod turn solved that and I gotta say this thing sounds like a dream! Not to mention it simply looks amazing! The tones are MUCH crisper and louder than my Ibanez. Im not sure if theres slightly less space between frets or what but songs that used to give me a little trouble in certain areas are a breeze on this guitar..bar chords are definatley easier...the fretboard is so smooth to play on its like glass! I only hooked it up to an amp for a few min but it sounded pretty darn good. But im LOVING the unplugged sound from this thing.. I havent been able to put it down and now im to the point of just taking it home with me instead and bringing it back each time because i dont want to part with it! This is one sexy as hell, smooth playing, guitar with a GREAT sound.. Im so glad i decided on this guitar instead of the martin and saved myself a few hundred bucks for something else!
