I needed some real backbone and bright and warm tone. I am a very very thorough person when it comes to purchasing guitars, and I tested many in the same range as the Exotica. Before I discovered it, I was pretty set on an ibenez I was looking at. However, the day I was ready to buy, I walked in the room and my eye caught this bad boy. It was everything i was looking for. A fuller-body acoustic, right off the bat a noticeably richer tone, and the action of it was great. It responded to all my finger movements. It sounded much better than all the other guitars I had tried in this range. Not to mention, I've been playing it on my amp (it's an acoustic electric, another thing i needed) and it really keeps its warmth through the amp, which my friends ibenez fails to really accomplish fully. I definitely recommend this guitar if its about your second or third guitar. You'll be pleased!
This guitar is very well made and has an easy neck to play. Sound quality is mellow or vibrant depending on your style. The built in tuner is very sensitive, but seems to be accurate beyond criticism. All and all, I have to say that I am quite happy with the instrument.
Very nice guitar. Good sound. Ordered a classical guitar from Dean after 6 weeks of waiting, got my money back. If your ordering a Dean, be prepared to wait a few months before getting it. I like Dean guitars, hate waiting for them. (That's why they only got a 4*)
