  • Dean East Andes Exotica

As reviewed by Greg A on 2/17/2011

I've been playing guitar for around 9 years I've played Ovations, Taylors, Guilds, Martins, and Takamines All top quality guitars. I bought this rosewood exotica to travel with and I was blown away. The neck is the fastest acoustic neck I've ever played and the tone of guitar is full of body and presence with rich bass and sweet melodic treble. The sound is just as pure pluged in as it is unpluged. The tuners almost never have to be touched which says a lot. I can move from indoor playing to sitting around a camp fire without making adjustments. I recomend stringing it with Medium or Medium light Ernie Ball Earthwoods. the only thing that takes some getting used to is the traditional strap placement (wraped around the head stock) but that's nothing a little time can't fix. I have owned this guitar for 5 months now and I am still very empressed with it.

  • Love it

As reviewed by JL on 3/28/2011

I don't actually own this guitar but my friend loaned it to me for a week because I loaned him my motorcycle. I didn't ever want to give it back! CONS: Looks nothing like the picture shown. It doesn't have as thick of a grain in the wood, it is more flat looking but still beautiful. The neck is very small for my hands but I'm used to playing on a fat classical guitar neck and I'm sure with time I could get used to it. PROS: Everything else. Good looking. Great sounding, nice warm sound, not too ringy and not overly bassy. Easy to play, great action. Projects very well unplugged. Pretty much I just love this guitar and if I had the money right now I would buy it.

  • A Good Show Off

As reviewed by Justin on 4/27/2010

I have been playing guitar for about two years now.I'm not the most experienced musician but I know a good guitar when I see one. This guitar rings out with a rich full sound.I love the looks of the natural finish... I get complements everywhere I go. It has great action because it is a Dean. The built in tuner isn't the greatest and the prongs for the input were bent when I got it. I also highly recommend new strings. But those are small complaints for such a good guitar. For the price I would definately recommend it for beginners trying to work their way up.
