This Edge Series 4-stringer features a basswood body, a nicely balanced and comfortable design, a choice of transparent finishes, multi-ply neck, Dean Design pickups, and Grover tuners. 34" scale length.
I have owned this bass for over 3 years and it is my favorite bass out of the ones that I own. It has a thin neck which fit my hand very well. The neck is also very fast. This bass is also very well balanced. It is not top heavy like some basses out there. This bass provides a very full tone. It gives you a fender type sound. However, if you like a bass that can give you a very trebley sound this is NOT your bass. This bass will not provide you with an Ibanez like treble sound. Another great thing about this bass is that it's action is very good. It is fairly low, which will help you get to the fret you need quickly. Lastly, the pickups on this bass can be a little weak if they are set too low. So if it seems quiet to you just raise the pickups.

This bass is great! The value was the first thing to draw me to it, but after playing it, the sound and tone is superb. With my samll hands I can easily reach all the frets thanks to the thin neck, and I have been able to play everything from Blues to heavy metal. This is the second bass I have purchased and after using it, i will forever be a Dean bassist.

The Dean Edge 4 String bass is the best bass that I have own. I have played on many different bass including Fender,Ibanze,B.C. Riches,ect... But I have to say this is the best one, The dean edge has nice slim neck for fast playablity, the body has nice contourer, and the soap bar dual pickups are amazing, the sound quality is awsome and it is great for any style of music. If you decide to choose Dean Guitars you wont be disappointed.

I've been in bands for 14 years professionally. For 13 of those years, I used a Rickenbacker, which was stolen about 2 months ago. Not having much money for a replacement, I chose the Dean Edge 4 Fretless. For the money, there isn't really much of a better choice out there. I'll be getting a higher quality fretless as my main instrument, but the Dean will serve as an extraordinarily viable back-up. The neck changes a bit much with the weather, but it is smooth and easily playable. The sustain lacks just a bit for slow blues, but the tone is thick. Active electronics don't hurt either. If you play out at least 3-4 times a week, and you play fretless, this is as good a back-up as you will find!
