A starter bass that will give you an edge.

The Dean Edge 1 Electric Bass reflects every bit of Dean's 20-plus years of experience in designing bass guitars. It has a light basswood body that is styled and contoured for comfort. The 34" scale maple neck is profiled to be fast playing and sleek feeling. A custom design neck joint and heel along with an asymmetrical 4-bolt pattern creates uninterrupted access all the way up the 2-octave rosewood fretboard. Soapbar pickups deliver a clean low-end that cuts through the thickest mix. Cosmetic touches include chrome hardware, abalone dot fingerboard markers, and a deep gloss finish on this eminently playable electric bass.

Case sold separately.

  • Lovin it!

As reviewed by Linz Hanson on 12/29/2010

I've been a six string player for a couple of years, and I just decided to pick up a nice four string. This is an awesome bass, great pick ups, very playable, and overall great sound. It responds great and I recommend it as a starter bass. The Trans Amber finish is also very attractive

  • Overall Great Player

As reviewed by Damien Smith on 5/2/2014

I bought this bass to replace an old one of mine. It has a great finish, it's a fast player, and sounds great. I play all sorts of things, in picked, finger, and slap-pop forms. I can tell you that this thing has handled it all. When I bought it, the tone knob and the input jack were quite loose, but a small wrench can easily fix that. Now, my strap falls of the strap buttons a lot, so I'm gonna replace those, but again, a small thing. So long as you've got an at least decent amp, it will sound good. The tone knob works great, I can get every range of sound I want. The fretboard is not rosewood like I expected, it's what I believe to be walnut. Either way, it looks and sounds killer. And for the's great. Definitely buy it again.

  • This is a bass for everyone

As reviewed by Bob on 4/25/2011

I have been in need of a bass for a while, and i saw the finish and price, and had to have it. I've had it for a couple months now and its held up well. The only problem was the output jack was badly sautered, but that was a quick fix. I am in a metal band, but i like to play funk, jazz, and most everything, and this bass can do it all. Its a great begginer bass, and also good for an expert.I'm also not a tone freak at all, and the volume and tone controls do virtually nothing, unless totally off or totally on. So, you have to do a lot of adjusting through your amp, but, all in all this is a good bass.
