  • Nice guitar

As reviewed by Matt on 9/10/2010

I was a bit concerned when I purchased this guitar because it cost so much less than the others being offered. I even read some of the other reviews and while most were positive, I recall reading one that mentioned having to adjust the truss rod to get rid of some string buzz. I opened the box, tuned it with the really cool and accurate on-board tuner and instantly started to play. No buzz, no adjustment, no nothing. Just good to go. After playing this guitar now for about a month, I really enjoy playing it. It sounds great both acoustic and amped. Feels good to the touch. The finish is superb. Just a really nice guitar and for $200 you can't beat it. I highly recommend this guitar. Enjoy

  • She's A Beauty

As reviewed by Justin Shelton on 5/18/2011

I don't think I have played a better acoustic bass than this one. Tell you the truth, I never really considered Dean a 'top of the line' bass company. But this EAB changed my opinion. With the built in tuner and good, solid construction, it makes a great bass. And,for just $200, there's no way it could have been better. I think the only acoustic bass that could top this one is a Washburn AB40 Stu Hamm acoustic bass, which has a very high price of $850. In short, if you want a quality acoustic bass, this is the way to go. Cheers!

  • Well Worth the Money

As reviewed by Jeff Tribby on 4/2/2011

I finally got my fretless EAB after being back ordered for a while. It was well worth the wait. At least one other reviewer noted that his bass was tuned a full step low when he unpacked it. That is to keep the strings from getting too tight during shipping as things can get get cold on occasion. I used the on-board tuner, and bingo, she was ready to play in moments. Being fretless, I had no fret buzz to worry about. Someone once showed how to do a sliding harmonic some time back (can't do it on a fretted instrument), and I had a bit of fun playing around with that. She sounds downright wicked through my amp though I did have to watch out for feedback. I got the natural satin finish, which was the back-ordered model. If I had selected the black one, I'd have had it inside a week, but it was very well worth the wait. It's great for someone who's starting out. I've been playing 40+ years, and I can tell you that some of the best sounding instruments are not necessarily that most expensive ones. This pretty little fretless is beautiful, rugged, solid, and it has quite voice unplugged or plugged in (with or without effects). I'm a very happy camper. I'd recommend it to anyone, even to Geezer Butler, Les Claypool and John Paul Jones!
