  • Worth Twice the Money

As reviewed by Gibbonboy on 11/21/2007

I recently received this guitar as a totally unexpected gift from my best friends (nice, huh?). I have played in bands on and off for about 15 years now, everything from punk to jazz fusion. I never really fooled with a bass, and had been looking for a cheap "starter" bass for a while. The idea of an acoustic really fits what I want in an instrument, no ticked-off neighbors, but plenty of sound when I want it. I've been playing this bass daily for several months now, and other than the necessary truss rod adjust and new strings, this is ready to go out of the box. Speaking of box, this bass is much longer than most "acoustic bass" cases out there. Make sure to measure twice, fit your actual model if you can. I'm still carrying mine in the box, have to make a special trip to the store to find a case that really fits. The sound is plenty loud enough to keep up with acoustic guitars. I've not plugged into a bass amp, so I can't speak to the functionality of the pickup. I use this for practicing at home, and jamming with friends. Sure I'll get an electric soon, but this is just plain enjoyable to play on, really kept up my interest in the bass. The finish on mine is kind of wavy (I have the black) but I didn't buy it for its looks. I've wasted more money on dinner and a movie, so even if it was marginally functional, it would be a bargain. But it actually plays and sounds better than a friend's much-more-expensive EAB, so I'd call this a super-bargain.

  • Great Value!

As reviewed by Shayla on 3/4/2011

Bought this for my boyfriend's birthday. He plays the bass in a band, but recently they've been having fun writting & practicing new songs accousticly. He has always wanted an accoustic-electric bass... and LOVES this one! He couldn't believe what a great deal I got on it and says the quality is worth so much more than what I paid. The sound quality is really great; robust, warm tones! The guitar comes completely out of tune and he had to make an adjustment to the neck... but overall we are both very pleased with it!

  • Its All Mother

I ordered this bass so I could mess around with, now I cant put it down. I've learned a few songs and jamming with the friends is a diffrent experience. I recomend it it to all for the price. I didnt change a thing, didnt mess with the truss rod or change strings. Its all good.
