The Dave Mustaine United Abominations Electric Guitar has all the great attributes of the Dave Mustaine VMNTX adding awesome United Abominations graphics. With a basswood body and a maple top, a maple neck with a rosewood fretboard, and 2 powerful Dean humbuckers, this is an electric guitar that looks and sounds worthy of the flame-haired metal master's name and of a place in your hands! The price sold me on it and the playability will keep me coming back to Dean.Love the 24 fretts and the thin neck is great for small hands like mine.Very light weight.Sounds great with a Peavey Vyper 15 Watt amp for practice.Hey,if you're a Dave Mustaine fan like me but can't afford his more expensive models I highly recommend this guitar!I'm sold on Dean!!!(By the way, guitar center employees are fantastic and won't intimadate a beginning player)

  • amazing guitar

As reviewed by Chris Sumner on 8/28/2010

This guitar is beautiful, physically and in sound quality. When I showed my friends, their jaws dropped. The reaction when I stepped on stage with that bad ass thing strapped around my neck was even better. The way this guitar sounds is even more awesome than it looks. It has a nice balance of growl and sweetness. When clean it sounds like an angel singing and when distorted it sounds like a devil screaming. With the addition of my Dimebag Darrel distortion pedal it sounds even better. The frets are a little smaller than my other guitars' so it's a lot easier to shred on it. It follows the same standard pickup/pickup/pickup switch/tone electronics. Possibly the best guitar I've ever played and definitely the best price I've ever seen for a guitar like this. Note for players: It doesn't have a whammy bar so if that's a problem you'll have to look into having one installed(this voids the warranty though).

  • A KILLER entry-level AXE

As reviewed by DAVE on 1/2/2011

Here's the meat-n-potatos. The neck is very fast and comfortable, boasting a polished fret board. The tuners are the best I've ever owned. That goes for the pick-ups as well- far better than my Fender Strat, and even better than my other Dean, a Vendetta. It's actually very comfortable to play even while sitting. For the down-side, mine is wired backwards at the volume controls / the top volume knob controlls the bottom pick-up/ and visa-versa. I got used to it in 5 minutes-so no big deal. Now, there's some clown complaining that he had to resolder this guitar 5 times. If he knew how to solder, he would have done it right the first time - so just disreguard his ramblings & read the other reviews. I also had some difficulty in finding a case to fit this axe, so take it with u when u shop for your case or you'll be sorry. The salesman at GC showed me 4 - 5 cases and he was SURE that each one would fit and was then surprised when they didn't. It was wider at the base & longer over all, than any other "V" at GC. The pics don't do the size of it justice. Also GC wanted an extra $80 for the(set-up). Mine was pretty close out of the box & I was able to do it myself. It's solid, has a medium weight, great balance, and a nice paint job. I'm real happy with it. I hope this review was helpful
