  I picked this up on clearence. What a great guitar. The pickups pack some punch and they are crunchy. Its very responsive for stock pickups. The floyd special is great. Once I set it up it stays in tune through my whammy abuse. Great for whammy screams. The neck feels comfortable and fast. This price is low and the guitar could easily compete with $500+ guitars. I love it. The coil tap is another feature, I really don't use it, but it does work and you can hear the difference. The Blue finish is great looking. I see no problems with the paint or neck. The tuners are grover and they do their job just fine. Customer service was great too. GC did not give me a whammy bar, so I called dean guitars and they sent me one right away. So far I have no complaints. I can play hard rock metal or just shredd away.

• Great Whammy Ability

  The Floyd Rose Special makes for great whammying both up and down. The locking nuts on the headstock keep it in tune after breaking in your strings even through much whammy abuse. The fine tuning knobs on bridge are great too. I really enjoy the range of sounds i can get with the pick ups and coil taps. Its a great guitar. I highly recommend it for any beginner or pro.

• Beautiful but a pain

  Ok I have been waiting for this guitar for a while. i was previously playing on an epiphone g300 and i wanted to upgrade to a guitar that was a better use to the music i played. i finaly get it and i put it in standard tuning to play some chuck berry and stevie ray Vaughn to test out the tone and action. both tone and action are very good but the sustain isnt all that great. so after i tested this i went down to drop b to play some slipknot. thats where it started. it took me an hour and 30 mins to tune down. they were slipping uncontrollably. so i said to myself no big deal theyre new stings and i just gotta break em in. well i did... still takes an hour and a half to change tuning. so i said theyre stock strings i can justy change em.. i got some ernie ball strings and the same problem. even tuning from standard to half step down takes an hour. this is my first floyd rose system and i dont know if they are all like this but it is too much of a hassle to tune. my 12 string is easier. once you do get it in tune. the floyd holds up extreamly well. it is also very senstive. i dropped the bar to the body while the strings waved at about 4 inches above the fret board and it stayed in tune. the neck is very comfortable too. i especialy like the tone and volume steel knobs. but the best thing about this guitar is the finish. the trans red is immaculate. i think i will replace the pickups though. and the bridge flyers need replacing. the middle one stripped. really the only down things are the strings pickups and the hour and a half tuning. if anyone has a solution to the tuning problem please comment and tell me how to fix it. thanks
