I used to make my own triggers because the ones at the music store really didn't work great. But then I found the Ddrum triggers and they are fantastic. Most of the other brands break if you hit them once, these feel soldit, and have an input jack on the trigger so you can unplug it with ease. Mine hasn't broken yet, and everything of mine breaks.

I have yet to gig with the snare trigger, and the panel mount xlr connector has come apart. They are not Neutrick connectors. They have a logo that is suspiciously similar but different to Neutrick. I've since replaced it with a quality Neutrick panel mount XLR. In addition, the piezo pickup that was glued to the inner wall separated around the same time. I have less than 10 rehearsals on this, and I don't even take it on and off the drum. I can't comment on the other triggers yet, but I can assume the same quality of connector will require replacement. The snare trigger itself has performed as expected. I am using it with a mesh head on the snare drum with good results, and have had success with the kick trigger and toms. I like the product, just not the time and money I have to spend bringing it up to professional standards. Make this the low end trigger kit, and sell a professional version at a different price point.

Great triggers but could be built better

    By Daniel-msOlx

    from TN

    Comments about Ddrum Trigger Kit:

I bought a set of these triggers about 3 months ago and loved them at first. Great sound, hardly any misfires or false triggering. My issues with these triggers are the fact that in this three month time, I had to get the snare trigger exchanged because it quit working. Worked fine during a practice, then the next day it didn't work. No clue why. My other complaint is the way the guts of them are constructed. The XLR input uses a very small screw to attach to the interior housing. Two separate triggers have had the screws come out due to vibration. Problem is that the screw hole is blocked by the exterior casing so it's extremely hard to put them back together. Overall, they're good triggers, but be prepared to replace a few of them soon. Buy the extra warranty.

These are the triggers to get!

    Comments about Ddrum Trigger Kit:

I used these on a Tama 5 piece kit, connected to an 'old' Alesis D4. Worked perfectly right out of the package, no sensitivity adjustment was needed (not at all expected). Highly recommended.

    With my TD 20 modual

    By D Edward

    Comments about Ddrum Trigger Kit:

These triggers work just great on my Yamaha kit that I use in the studio, I have never seen another thing like it. I run a 300 watt power amp to push a 5 15 bass bottomm plus the sound from the accustic drums the rest of the boys have no problem feeling the drums. These suckers are as we use to say "Far Out Man"

Everything I Hoped They Would Be

    By DBB Records

    from Northern Indiana

    Comments about Ddrum Trigger Kit:

These things ROCK! The usual headaches brought on by amateur drummers have completely disappeared! Good drummers know how to play their kits, and as a result, their tracks sound great, no gating needed. However, not every session has a great drummer... Now, no more hours spent on each drum manually gating every hit because of sissy-hits. No more misfires from the gates themselves. I can just side-chain the recorded trigger tracks into the gates, AND the compressors. Instantly, an entire night of boredom just turned into a 30 second patch. Completely awesome. I don't know how these stand up in a live setting, or how well they work with a brain, but in the studio they will remain staples in my arsenal.

    Comments about Ddrum Trigger Kit:

I put these on my acoustic set pluged them in to my TD8 roland controller and they work great. No extra muffling needed. My drums sound huge and are a blast to play.

    Absolutely Awesome!

    By K.O.

    from Utica, NY

    Comments about Ddrum Trigger Kit:

I've been running these triggers with an Alesis DM5 Module. I've always tuned my toms with no muffling for a wide open sound, a zero ring on my snare if needed (depending on the room) and a PowerStroke III bass drum head, with a bath towel for muffling. I had a few issues with double triggering when I first set these up, but after getting comfortable with them..I was able to tweak them without a problem! No additional muffling needed at all...and the best thing is that I can still hear the great acoustic sound out of my drums from behind the set!I'd recommend these to anyone, without hesitation!

    Great Triggers

    By Wiskid

    from Wisconsin

    Comments about Ddrum Trigger Kit:

I actually bought a used set of these triggers from a local store. I use an Alesis DM4 module. There are some problems with double triggering, but it's not too bad. You just need to make sure you muffle the drum head with some duct tape or something. That will eliminate the head pulsating and causing a possible double trigger. These are overall a great deal. I use them for recording and live. I haven't tried anything else, but my friend has the step up ddrum triggers, and I don't notice much of a difference, so I don't know why someone would pay the extra.
