I have used a few different types of triggers, some better than others, but I can honestly say this trigger is pretty good. It is not super sensitive, so if you have a lot of really soft sticking on the drums, it may not pick up everything. These triggers do not have an adjustment for sensitivity, but for the price, it is a pretty darn good deal.

I just bought one of these ddrum Red Shot Triggers to hook up my snare drum with a mesh head to my Roland TD-6S V-Tour electronic drum set (which I love). This trigger did not work well at all. It is not sensitive, and does not pick up half of the hits. Forget about having it pick up a drum roll. I bought it because the other comments here said it worked well. Maybe the combination of the Roland TD-6 module, this Trigger, and a mesh head just doesn't work well together. I'm just glad that I didn't spend too much for it because it's worthless for what I was needing it to do.

      Red Shot Triggers

      By Steve Travelstead

Comments about Ddrum Red Shot Trigger Tom/Snare:

These triggers mount on any one of your drum lugs. I put mine on a lug that will be the further from me. You can get these with XLR, or microphone ends also, but the cords are more expensive .
I bought four of these, and a bass drum trigger in 1997and have ran them through an Alesis D4 since. Just recently they got to where the cords wont stay plugged in from age....the insides are wore out from use. Other than that I've never had one problem with them. I am waiting now for my new ones I ordered from Musicians Friend to arrive now. These triggers are bent up and beat to death from "mishits", and they still keep working! I realize that I sound like a representative for this trigger company, and I'm not, but I'm tired of spending my money on junk and it tear up in a few months. Anyone looking for triggers needs to go with these tough boys.
I've had buddy drummers use other brands, and they don't get close to these triggers.
The cheaper triggers are not as reliable when it comes to setting sensitivity and such.

      Can't beat 'em..(pun intended)

Comments about Ddrum Red Shot Trigger Tom/Snare:

I purchased the 5pc set in 2002 and have never looked back! I'm a heavy hitter and use these with mesh heads getting great response and I'm just now getting to the point where I need to replace a couple! 1 could actually be easily repaired (broken wire) but I'll simply buy another 5pc and have backups to need 10 years from now!! As far as I'm concerned, you can't possibly go wrong with these! Even if you have half the luck I've had with them, they will totally pay for themselves in no time!

      Great triggers for low cost

      By Twichins

Comments about Ddrum Red Shot Trigger Tom/Snare:

I just got these a few days ago and so far I love them. I am using them with Pearl Mesh heads(Muffle Heads) on my Acoustic set. My band has 2 drummers and I use mine as a percussionist/ Electronic setup. I am running them through a Alesis DM5 Brain. They are very responsive to the mesh heads and all sensitivity can be adjusted by the Alesis. This is a Quick review and I will wright more when we start touring in January and let you know how they hold up. They only down fall is how they mount on the drum If you can afford the extra money I would go with the pro ones but these do a good job so far.

      Best of the Inexpensive

      By Anon a Moose

Comments about Ddrum Red Shot Trigger Tom/Snare:

I recently purchased several different triggers including the red and the black from a different manufacturer, Roland, and the higher end ddrum triggers, so that I could evaluate where my dollars would go in the future. These little red shots have performed as well as the more expensive triggers, and way outperformed the other inexpensive triggers. Easy to install, and every drum I have put them on has responded beautifully. Full rolls, flams, rimshots etc.... no issues with setting up, nothing. Absolutely will order more, and although I don't have any data as far as reliability over time, the transducer is replaceable and ten minutes work.

      Awesome Triggers

      By Mozzer

Comments about Ddrum Red Shot Trigger Tom/Snare:

I purchased one of these about a week ago. I'm using this with the hart magnum mesh heads, a Roland TD-3 module, and EZ Drummer. This trigger tracks flawlessly on my TD-3 after I adjusted the parameters. I was so happy with this trigger I ordered 2 more plus the bass drum trigger. I would strongly recommend trying one of these out.

      Buy It!!!

      By drummer-Wq.WL

      from Undisclosed

Comments about Ddrum Red Shot Trigger Tom/Snare:

This is a great deal for drummers looking to buy great triggers without having to take out a loan. I happen to own both the pro and red shot models of this trigger and there isn't really any difference in quality. Both models use the same transducer. The obvious difference is what the transducer is mounted on. With this in mind think twice before passing the red shot triggers because they are not "quality" or don't have the name "pro' attached to it.

      Red Shot Trigger pack

      By Soulz@Zero

      from DC

Comments about Ddrum Red Shot Trigger Tom/Snare:

I bought this product in a 5 piece pack (4 of these and the kick Drum trigger) for $199 about 5 years back. I use them with an old Roland V-Club TD6 drum brain which I dont think you can even get anymore. I also sing in an all cover band, letting my drummer use them with the Roland and they sound GREAT! (We are completely different styles of drumming.) I did have to go into the brain and adjust some settings in regards to sensitivity, decay time and such, to illiminate the cross talk and double firing. For the price, you cannot beat these triggers. I'm not to fond of the wires exposed like they are, and one of the tie-wraps that hold the wiring down broke, but I replaced it easy enough. One plus side to the exposed wiring, I guess, is you could fix it easy enough if it broke! Anyway, these are great for any bar band, playing small to big rooms. Even with PA on a stick, you can trigger the whole kit and get a killer drum mix, from minimal volume, to louder than hell!
