Overview

This 7" x 13" snare drum is decked out with black hardware over a shell made of ash. ddrum introduced Dominion series drums with ash shells when others dismissed it as merely a wood for guitar bodies. Ash provides more volume than maple or birch can produce. Dominion ash drums have been enthusiastically accepted by players who have louder and more aggressive playing styles, and are now a permanent staple in the ddrum family. The snare's vibrant grain has the stunning visual properties of oak, while the latest improvements in finish application and precision bearing-edge cutting allow for maximum output and performance on the road or in the studio.

Great SOUNDING Drum

By Ben S

from Washington, DC

I bought one of these guys about 7 months ago, and immediately fell in love with the deep warmth that this drum has to offer. I also get compliments on the finish everywhere I go. I've never ever had a snare that sounded this great, and I attribute it to the depth, and diameter. The hardware is another story. Be wary of the snare throw as when I'm playing it sometimes loosens and gets shaken into the "Off" position. Also, after two consecutive breaks in the inner lug hardware, I went ahead and bought some Pearl replacement lug screw fittings (literally the screw fittings INSIDE the lug)and replaced every single one of the fittings. I haven't had any problems yet. There's also a small hairline crack in the bearing edge of the snare. Still, somehow this thing manages to sound phenomenal.
