To create the ddrum Dios Aspen and Bubinga Snare Drum, Ddrum started experimenting with different wood combinations to get a truly unique sound. The winning combination turned out to be outer plies of wood from Aspen trees and inner plies of African bubinga to form their Dios shells.
The outcome is a brighter tone that is full of body due to the aspen plies, and increased bottom end as a result of the bubinga inner plies. But, true to form for any ddrum drum, the look of the Dios snare is what truly sets it apart. This deep 7" x 13" snare is dressed up in ddrum's sparkle lacquer that shimmers on the bandstand.

Comments about ddrum Dios Aspen/Bubinga Snare Drum:
First of all with any drum one must experiment. Try different heads and different tension adjustments. However, when i went to change the head on my ddrum Dios Aspen/ Bubinga sanre i was dissapointed. The bearing edge was horrible. you would think that hand crafted actually meant taking the time to make sure the snare was crafted just right. My bearing edge was very rough and I ended up having to use sand paper to carefully try and smooth it out. When I buy a snare all i want to do is put on a head, tune, and play. I don't want to sit for hours trying to fix something that should have been done in the factory. nevertheless, this IS just an opinion. try it for yourself and experiment. Let me know what you come up with. i'm definitely open to ideas. Overall, this is a decent snare for the price. Enjoy, Peace!!!
