Comments about Ddrum DDA50 Electronic Drum Kickback Amp:
I purchased this for my Roland V drums. I was using my home theater system with Bose AM10 Speakers and Subwoofer to play live in my great room. My great room is 32 feet long by 16 feet wide with a 12 foot vaulted ceiling. The music always sounded great but the drums lacked something when using this setup.
I tried all kinds of tweaking with the home theater system; but just could not get the right sound from the V Drums. The cymbals especially were quite weak.
I was a little apprehensive in buying a 50 watt amp to replace my 200 watt home theater system but let me tell you this thing rocks! At half volume on the amp and half volume on the V drums I have more than enough power for live playing in my great room. My drums sound so much better! So much so I have reprogrammed my kits around the DDA50 amp.
One of my favorite kits had a raspy sound in the kick and toms that I never noticed before even with my headphones. I removed that and now they sound great.
I really like the dimples in the control knobs so you can adjust them from the drums with your drumstick, I know they all have this feature, but many people don't realize it because the manufacturers don't point it out.
