I bought this kit as my "gigging" kit. The orange grain finish is impeccable and the sound is just awesome! It does have a 24" kick which usually doesn't carry that tight sound that a smaller diameter may have, but this particular kick is 24" Diameter and 22" in depth. Its HUGE! When tuned right. It sounds like a cannon going off! It could take out a small village, so be careful. Great for rock music. Might be a little too boomy for jazz. ddrum is awesome and very under the radar at the moment.
OH Man this drum set is beautiful aside from it's beauty it has a great sound. It's huge 24"X20" bass is full of power and great
got this set months a go! sounds amazing with super kick 2 as bass drum and even ec2 clear sound amazing!!! plus the bust orange is sexy
After months of research and reading reviews I finally decided to just throw caution into the wind and order this kit. I got the Redburst. I always wanted that big kick drum but was worried it was too big,, well ITS NOT!!!! IT freakin pounds!!! I put a Emad 2 on it and boy does it ever sound fantastic. Very deep sounds while still remaining punchy. The toms sound great as well, nice and full sounding with good attack. Even the snare sounded great with just the factory head on it. All the other factory heads are garbage including the resonant sides, and need to replaced for the kit to sound great. I just used them to track an entire album and the Engineer loved the sounds and I have had several compliments on this kit. Pros: great sounds, robust shell construction, awesome looks, hardware is smoked chrome and not black anodized on mine. Cons: Laquer finish is not very tough, wimpy floor tom legs (they work) floor tom feet are very hard rubber and small. Overall it, especially for the price. I put new heads on the entire kit, and new feet on the floor tom legs and I am very pleased. If your looking at this kit but arent sure, just do it! But plan on buying all new heads right away.
