The PK4 Poly Evolver is a 61-key version of the Poly Evolver synth with a one-button-per-function layout. 78 knobs, 58 switches, backlit wheels, and blinking LFO and blue sequence LEDs provide a plethora of control options and keep you on top of your sequencing and effects. Each voice has two analog and two digital oscillators, just like the rack version. The analog oscillators offer multiple waveshapes with voltage-controlled analog pulse-width modulation, hard syncing, real voltage-controlled lowpass filters, and VCAs on each channel. The digital oscillators select from 96 Prophet-VS and 32 user-loadable (via MIDI) wavetables and have FM and ring modulators. As with original VS, the digital oscillators get trashy as the frequency gets higher.

Other tools and features include a separate glide per oscillator, dual digital 4-pole highpass filters that can be placed before or after the analog electronics, stereo audio inputs, a noise generator, envelope follower and peak detect from the external input for use as a modulation source, three snappy ADSRs, and four LFOs that are sequencer- and MIDI-syncable.

Also included are dual tunable feedback loops, delay with three taps, digital distortion, three banks of 128 programs for 384 total, a 16 x 4 analog-style sequencer that syncs with MIDI, and extensive modulation options.

Includes a free standalone editor that will run on both a PC and a Mac enabling you to edit both programs and combos quickly and easily.

Best synth to date

By mike

from detroit (put your hands up)

I own this and its sweet! sounds like the old prophets but with 10000x more possibilities this can make sounds like no other. Ans its the most beautiful synth i have ever seem. ohyah... is made in USA to. thats so hard to find. after i bought this, i sold ALL my other gear cause cause i never used them again after laying my hands on this. this WILL be a classic in the years to come.

Own this synth for a few months now...and I continually find new uses and expressions. This is not a toy but rather a serious instrument for the most creative artists (and wannabes like myself), a must have if you enjoyed the prophet line. Built like a tank and visually attractive. Board is laid out logically. A bit of prior synth experience is helpfull but not necessary. A lot of the presets are a bit harsh and not truelly representative of the subtle and ethereal beauty this instrument is capable of. Take the time to learn this board and the only limit to your expression will be you. Enjoy!
