great bass!

go to stewmac. com and order some gotoh guitar tuning machines--they sell them individually--you'll have to carefully knock out the existing ferrules and drill out the holes with a 25/64 bit. the bass will then stay in tune for a whole set. other than the tuning machines, i have complaints about the bass. i do miss the aluminum nut though.

If you are looking to play a traditional sounding and feeling electric bass you need look no further than a Danelectro. They have the vibe and the specs to sound like EVERYBASS. Now if you are a 10-string bass slapper...move on...nothing here for you. However, if you want to play ELECRIC BASS GUITAR (with the emphasis on the word "GUITAR") need to consider Danelectros. They can sound like an amplified DOUBLE BASS; a hollow body bass guitar; a solid body bass guitar with great resonance. They are lightweight with a comfortable but professional scale. They are the epitome of FORM FOLLOWING FUNCTION. They have started making them again in KOREA...and this is a good thing. The Hodad is a wonderful and eminently professional bass guitar (which is a style in itself). Again, slappers need not apply but you flat pickers and two finger pluckers and you thumb thumpers...stop here.

By Amel Bontempo

this is a great bass for the money. its made in korea. the neck is very easy to play on with small frets. it has the famous danelectro sound from the two lipstick pickups. the bass looks great. the binding tape is already coming off a bit though. amazing tone out of this bass. this is a great bass for anyone
