I have owned the Danelectro Pepperoni Phaser for 4 years now, and I love it. It is very simple, with just one knob for setting the speed, but it is sweet. I use this effect all the time, especially for lead stuff. It sounds great on clean tone and with distortion. At such a low price, adding this pedal to your collection is almost a requirement.

This pedal isn't worth the $30 it costs, to be honest. This was one of my first effects for electric guitar - it was so cheap, and I was so young... The phase hiccups - it doesn't sweep smoothly, but rather has a weird speedup during the high part of the phase. The button broke on me. There is no shielding on the pedal, so it tends to pick up radio interference. The plugs are pieces of junk. The knob fell off after a month. It is INCREDIBLY degrading to the guitar signal - testing with and without this pedal in my chain, even with it off, caused SIGNIFICANT differences. Don't buy this pedal - save a little more and put your money into a quality effect.

Comments about Danelectro DJ-6 Pepperoni Phaser Pedal:

Great sounding, easy to use and looks cool. I use mine with the Danelectro adapter(only 8 bucks) Its not over the top but is voiced a little less intense. I recommend it.

Not bad with tweaking

By Dylan Windwalker

from L.A.

Comments about Danelectro DJ-6 Pepperoni Phaser Pedal:

Okay, so I just got this pedal last week and hooked it up to my rig in all sorts of combinations. The phase effect was just slightly more shallow than say, an MXR. HOWEVER, there's an easy way to 'fix' that. (some people like a more subtle effect) You can open the back of the pedal where you put the battery in, look at the first PCB board and you'll find three little screws. Unscrew them and slip the board with the switch out of the way. Look on the corner of the second PCB and you'll find a "trim pot." It's a little screw on a white square. Now, find a tool to turn it with and hook it all up disassembled, rotate the screw to the right until just before it starts to cut out with the phase. (Use a slow phase to test) This GREATLY increases the phasing to MXR levels. Before the adjustment, it was a great vintage phase, now it's the best I own with a great price. Get it!

Good, but not good enough.

By Ethan Jantzen

Comments about Danelectro DJ-6 Pepperoni Phaser Pedal:

This is a good product but just not good enough for my style of playing. Great if your a beginner, not enough control of things like Depth and Resolution and the Stages of Phasing, but at least you get control of the speed, i own this and got it for free from a friend, but great if your on a tight budget, i will be getting the BOSS Phase Shifter!

Durable!

By StratHSS

Comments about Danelectro DJ-6 Pepperoni Phaser Pedal:

Somehow this pedal ended up outside on top of a mailbox. This may not be the best phaser, but it is a survivor! This little thing lasted through multiple rainstorms, and even the snow in Charleston! I'm giving it 5 stars for durability.

since 1999

By Larry

Comments about Danelectro DJ-6 Pepperoni Phaser Pedal:

I've owned this pedal since 1999 when i was up for a senior talent show and needed it to play Live's "Lightning Crashes". I still use it. I do want to upgrade to a "real" phaser, but for as much as I use it (hardly, or just to add punch to leads now), its perfect. Batteries last forever, and its held up to my stomping since 1999. Give it a shot. I also own the tuna melt tremolo which is one of the best feature wise I have played. This phaser does not have the slight volume dip as the tremolo did. Get both!

It's ok for the price

By Sound_Sickness

from Overseas

Comments about Danelectro DJ-6 Pepperoni Phaser Pedal:

I tried this pedal at a music store and it's a good sounding phaser pedal (especially if think the little buck you're paying for it), let's say is decent. It's the same for any Danelectro pedal: if you can't afford other pedals (EHX, MRX, Boss, Line6, Pro Co, etc.) Danelectro pedals are good enough for the price but if you can pay for better pedals please do!

delicious peperoni

By Dr moe

from mexicali

Comments about Danelectro DJ-6 Pepperoni Phaser Pedal:

I've initially decided to use it 'coz it was very affordable, the phaser was urgent to me, and I' couldn't pay a MXR phase 90, I had owned another danno pedals, and I thought that they are very decent, but when I used it, I was very pleased, 'coz it gives a sweet, vintage, clear, expressive and a wide range of sound. Unfortunately someone stole my peperoni, but some months later I bought another one, this time I could pay the MXR but I've decided to use the danelectro, I really love it, some people think ( as me few years ago), that these pedals are cheap and worthless, but they really weren't. I gave a 7 in features 'coz it has only knob ( but is enough, you can believe me), a 8 in quality 'coz although is made of plastic, is very durable, and has a useful hard plastic knob protector, value 10 'coz, you'll never get this quality for the price, and a global 9, 'coz though it exist a million phasers more expensive, and full of great features, this one is very competent and has a price unbeatable.

Mine Picked Up AM Radio

By Timmy The Rodfather-Fq2-Y

from Allison Park Pa.

Comments about Danelectro DJ-6 Pepperoni Phaser Pedal:

When I plugged this product into my guitar, immediately I could hear a local AM radio station. Hopefully this was an anomaly-surely Danelectro wouldn't let this get past quality control. All my other Danelectro products have been excellent pedals for the price .When I could ignore the AM noise, however, I could hear that the phaser effect seemed to work pretty well. But the radio interference was too much to overcome. Try it and, hopefully, your pedal will not have this problem.

This One Plays The Radio

By Timmy The Rodfather-Fq2-Y

from ALLISON PARK, PA

Comments about Danelectro DJ-6 Pepperoni Phaser Pedal:

I received this pedal a few weeks ago. When I plugged it into my practice amp and guitar,I immediately began to hear my local AM radio station! Now,the phaser effect was working-but the radio station drowned it out. I hope that this is a very rare occurence, because all my other Danelectro pedals are great effects for the price. The phaser effects worked well and sounded decent-but mine played AM radio, and I could not get rid of the signal.
