The Best Vintage Distortion!

By Electric Bill Pylon

from Pearl City, IN

Comments about Danelectro DD-1 Fab Tone Distortion Pedal:

In the last couple of years I?ve become quite the Danelectro addict. The Fab Tone was one of the first Dano products I bought. The Fab Tone is my favorite distortion, really gets that mid/late 60s tone. If you?re into early Stones, Guess Who, Mitch Ryder, you need this. It sounds great on that old stuff, it?s also good for some blues, and even punk rock. Take the time to tweak it, a little goes a long way. People complain about the jacks, but they?ve never been a problem for me, if you take care of your junk you won?t have a problem.

The Beast

By Darren

from Undisclosed

Comments about Danelectro DD-1 Fab Tone Distortion Pedal:

The look is classic, but looks can be deceiving. This is a heavy distortion pedal. I've had this thing forever, and I thought it was broken for a while, but it was just a bad cable. The near death experience had me looking around for a replacement, which I was kind of looking forward to simply because this pedal does one trick and does it well. Now I like it, but at church I get looked at funny when I stomp this. There is no subtle overdrive sound. There are just varying levels of extreme distortion. Now this is not nesessarily a metal shredding pedal, although it can be used in that genre. The sound is more meaty and chunky. You hear individual string tones more clearer. Think STP. Play one if you get the chance.

Great pedal, many tones, well built

Comments about Danelectro DD-1 Fab Tone Distortion Pedal:

This is one of the pedals that made Danelectro an industry standard. It's got many tones also so it can be used for almost any style of music. Its also relatively cheap I definitely say buy it for a fuzzy distortion box.

Decent tone for the $$$$

By Moore5150

Comments about Danelectro DD-1 Fab Tone Distortion Pedal:

I purchased this pedal a few years ago and frankly do not use it much any more. The tone from this unit is decent, but fairly one dimensional in my opinion. The unit is fairly cheap, and works well in front of a nice tube amp like my Marshall JCM800. I set the pedal to a fairly low gain and use it as a volume/sustain booster. Not a bad pedal for the money.

This pedal is great!!!

By Petenice

from Dayton, OH

Comments about Danelectro DD-1 Fab Tone Distortion Pedal:

I bought this pedal a few years ago and it has been a staple of my equipment ever since. I am by no means a novice (I have played for over 10 years) and I highly recommend this pedal. This pedal will give you anywhere from nice soft overdrive with harmonic overtones to full on heavy meatl distortion with screaching highs and deep chunky lows. At this price you will not find a better pedal. Buy it now!!!
