I always wanted a distorsion pedal but I have a limited budget. I bought this pedal expecting the usual raspy high notes and muddy low notes, but was I completely wrong. This pedal is amazing. It has a very clean distorted sound, not that sawtooth distorsion most low cost pedals have. The knobs are really a plus. You can't turn them by accident with your foot when you go to press the pedal, because they face toward the back. The controls let you choose from a variety of sounds and tones. This pedal is an awesome buy.

i love this little pedal! My friend was a music director of my church and gave me this little pedal. Right now its the ONLY pedal i own.I've had it for some time now and i had to fix it a little bit here and there, but basically if you lack distortion get this lil guy. But bottom line is there is better out there!

IF YOUR POOR LIKE ME BUY!

By Jhoff10

from Your moms house

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:

Great little pedal. Sounds good and really cheap. One thing is that the button is a little small and hard to get a clean switch in, also its plastic so don't slam on it. But for 15 bucks I'm plan on buying more FAB pedals.

Great Pedal!!

By CamDJC90

from Soho, MA

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:

i got this as a present last year, and i love it! Setting the distortion on a low setting gives off a good classic rock sound, and setting the distortion high makes this pedal great for all kinds of hard rock and even some metal. The only flaw about the pedal is that its made out of plastic, but it is very strong plastic. Other than that, i totally recommend this pedal.

Horrible Pedal!

By Metal Madness666

from Ny

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:

This is the absolute WORST pedal I have ever played. The tone sucks, the distortion sounds like nothing but static. The only reasson I bought it to begin with is because my Boss Metal Zone broke, and I didn't have the money for another one. This seemed like a fair deal, but it is just so bad. The volume of Pinch harmonics are so low on this thing, plus the material is really cheap. Its such a shame too, becuase I've never wrote a bad review for an item. Horrible pedal. Think twice before buying. Done.

Pretty Good

By GibsonKerrigan

from Medford, MA

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:

I play an Ibanez gax30 guitar (upgraded with a gfs dream 90 bridge pickup) into a vox vr30 with reverb. This pedal produces some nice tones but can be a little harsh if you're not careful. the 3 knobs it provides allows for plenty of tweakability ranging from a vintage fuzz to total distortion. It is definitely a solid-state sound so don't buy this expecting to get the warmth that a tube or tube-emulation pedal would provide. Otherwise, a great stompbox.

Perfect for Budget Players!!!

By DoubleRDiamond

from Nashville, TN

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:

The Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion pedal really surprised me! I was expecting very little when I bought this pedal because of the price. To say I was surprised is an understatement when I plugged it in. It has some really nice fat but warm distortion tones that are adjustable to your preferences. If you want a southern rock sound or a classic rock sound, this pedal will help get you there. I highly recommend the Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion pedal!!

Good for the price.

By SnakerJaker

from Indiana

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:

I got this pedal because of the price and because I have the Fab Chorus pedal and really like it's sound and quality. the Fab Distortion pedal is a good pedal for its price, but when I try to do leads it sounds like a cheap pedal, it sounds fuzzy instead of a clear lead sound. overall a good pedal, I would reccomend it, but it should be used for riffing/chords, not leads.

It's OK

By Maza

from Ridgeland, MS

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:

It's a cheap pedal that is great for starters. The tone is outstanding. The major problem is the hum, but if you have a noise gate, it's perfect. I use this pedal as an equalizer through a Dean ZX to a Rocktron Rampage 50 watt. It's not too bad.

U GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

By slinginink69

from HInesville, Georgia

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:

This was my first peddle i ever got. As far as the sound its not too bad. I can't hook a 9v adapter to it, it wont work (i have tried about a dozen differnt adapters). The only way i can get it to work is with a 9v battery, which dont last that long if you play alot. I would not recommend this to no one unless you dont mind changing the battery every few hours.

AMAZING!!

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:

This is your basic distortion pedal with a dist., level, and tone controls. It small, compact, and sounds amazing for the price. You can't expect this thing to sound like a high-priced pedal, but it does a great job. Of course, if u have an extra 100 or so dollars lying around you might as well buy a jeckell and hyde pedal, but for those who refuse to spend too much on a pedal this is your best bet. Only problem is the lack of an AC adapter, which you'll have to buy on your own. You can, however, use 9 volt batteries.

Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion

By GuitarGod274

from South Bend, Indiana

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:

This is a great distortion pedal if you have a limited budget. It has awesome tone. The reason I gave the Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion only four stars instead of five is because of the housing. The plastic housing is cheap and not very durable. Otherwise, it's a great distotion pedal. If you have a small budget than I would highly recommend this product. However, if you have more money to spend I would go with the Boss DS-1 Distortion. It has amazing tone and is built like a tank. It has an aluminum housing and will last for years.

Pleased with the pedal

By Greg

from North Carolina

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:

Although I am using this trough an old Peavey 10 watt practice amp I am happy with the sound and performance of the pedal. The only negative note I must add is that I feel the activation switch seems difficult to hit properly, this can be of course attributed to my not being used to using it yet.

Awsome Distortion Pedal

By GuitarHurricane

from Austin,Texas

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:

I've had this little guy for about a year now and I love it!It produces beautiful vintage tones and can even be used as a boost with the level up and gain turned down. This pedal is amazing and sounds wonderful with a tube amp.Nice 70's sound and sturdy! It has been a part of my live setup and is still kicking! But because it is made of plastic BE CAREFUL and just dont STOMP it and it'll last a long time.

Great!

By Joker_in_the_Pack

from Los Angeles, California

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:

It's a great pedal. Like all Danelectro pedals, these things eat batteries faster than Oprah takes down chocolates. Just make sure you remember to use the DC adapter and you're set. I like a ton of distortion. I combine it with their FAB Metal and FAB overdrive. Sounds amazing.

Great pedal for a crazy low price

By Mike

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:

I was sceptical when I ordered this because it was priced so low but I read the reviews and they were all favorable so I decided to go for it. Man, I am floored as to how great this pedal sounds. I am now going to get several more from this company as I think these are great!

I use it as a keyboard effect, it works well for that, I don't know how it would sound for its intended use on guitar.

You get what you pay for

By Scott

from St. Louis, Missouri

Comments about Danelectro D-1 Fab Distortion:

I had a good 6 months with this pedal it sounded pretty good, my boss is a lot better, but it makes for a good starter pedal until you get the money for the serious pedals.
