Comments about Danelectro Convertible Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I was after a guitar that offered plugged in acoustic as well as electric sound. I was a little put off at first with the electric sound. Being it's a hollow body and does not have double coil humbuckers, it just doesn't get all that beefy. But it does offer a pretty wide range of tones, with a nice plugged in acoustic sound. The electric sound (lipstick pick up dialed in) is more like an old hollow body. This guitar is real good for Chuck Berry type stuff. Not exactly what I was expecting at first, but turning out to be fun, and taking me into some interesting directions. Seems to hold it's tune OK.

Comments about Danelectro Convertible Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Love this guitar. I am a huge critic of product quality and don't say good things often about products but this one is a beast. I play all genres from soft blues to prog metal and this can do it all.

Acoustic - The sound isn't too loud but it is definitely loud enough to be heard. The Masonite body makes it slightly louder than average compensating for the size. Great sound for playing around bonfires or just trying to find a lick.

Electric - The pickups are awesome. The lipstick is great for full body sounds and getting nice lows while the piezo really brings out the high end. If using distortion it is difficult to use the piezo as it is a high gain single coil and you will get a lot of feedback even with a noisegate. Luckily the lipstick has such great tone on the high end as well that you can play some really crunchy stuff with only one single coil lipstick.

Negative - The only thing I could find is that the bridge on this guitar is a piece of rosewood with a fret across it and the fret I was shipped has some burring so whenever I do bends you can hear the strings moving on the bridge with a loud tick. When plugged into an amp you cant really tell but you can hear it acoustically. Could be fixed easily with some nut grease or possible filing.

Comments about Danelectro Convertible Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Nice finish and build quality. Being such a thing body it does howl when volume is turned up past 4 or 5 . Unplugged sound is "plasticy" but good for playing outdoors Unplugged. Overall I am very happy with this guitar and would buy it again
