Comments about Danelectro '58 Longhorn Bass Electric Bass Guitar:

I wanted one of these basses back when I was a kid, but couldn't afford it at the time. When I saw they were being produced again, I went to great lengths to find out all I could about the Longhorn. I listened to demo videos and read quite a few negative reviews - fret buzz, can't adjust the bridge, intonation, etc. I figured "what the duce" and ordered one anyway, because the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to finally have one. I got the copper burst, and it's absolutely beautiful. The only difference I see is the chicken beak tone knobs. I'm pretty certain they used to be round. That's okay. I checked it out before I left the store with it. My Longhorn is spot-on with the intonation, and there is no fret buzz at all. That + me = happy camper. It has no flaws on it anywhere. The action is quite good, too. I don't know if I just lucked out or what, but I'm thoroughly pleased with my bass #22. It's a ton of fun to play. I can get the same bass tone from Golden Earring's "Radar Love." After all, the bassist used one of these.

Comments about Danelectro '58 Longhorn Bass Electric Bass Guitar:

This Bass is lighweight....a little over 12 lbs. The sound is brilliant for traditional or modern. The tone is awesome and the cut aways allow for maximum access. Not only does it deliver on the sound but visually its a work of art. I would suggest this Bass to any serious bass player, bassist, collector or recording artist or studio musician.
